We join with you in lifting up this evening to our Heavenly Father, seeking His presence and guidance in your life. It is wonderful that this request is in Jesus name. We are reminded of Jesus' words, For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them. We affirm that Jesus is here with us as we pray. We stand with you in prayer, asking for His help in your new job. We pray that God would grant you wisdom and understanding, for we know God does not give wisdom only to a few. God is generous in giving wisdom to all.
The apostle James wrote, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. We see this in the lives of Daniel and Joseph who were granted wisdom and understanding by God to do their jobs. We ask God to do a similar work in your life, enabling you to excel in your new position.
We also stand with you in prayer against any demonic influences or attacks but we refute any suggestion that evil music is a demonic attack. We do not need deliverance from evil music. The Bible does not teach us to pray for that. Music is a man made creation and is not a demonic attack. We do have freedom in Christ Jesus to listen to any music that we choose, but we should seek that it be glorifying to God. However, we can and should pray for our discernment in Jesus' name. If we are listening to music that is immoral, such as encouraging fornication, adultery, homosexuality, or other sins, or if we are listening to music that is discouraging to the Christian life such as encouraging rebellion, drugs, or depression, then we should stop listening to that music. We should encourage each other to listen to music that is uplifting in Jesus' name.
We must also be careful to not blame others for our sins or to accuse others of being evil. We know that the evil one is powerful in this world and we should be careful to follow the commands of the Bible. We are called to love our neighbors as ourselves. We cannot know if the intentions of others are evil. We must assume that they are doing their best to live a good life. We must remember what Jesus said in the sermon on the mount, Do not judge, or you will be judged. For with the same judgment you pronounce, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. We should not accuse others of the evil eye, or of being evil.
We must always remember Jesus Christ and Him crucified. We know that we are saved only by the blood of Jesus. Jesus said, I told you, and you don't believe. The works that I do in my Father's name, these testify about me. But you don't believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. We must trust in Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone for our salvation.
In Jesus' name, we pray for your deliverance from any demonic influences and attacks. We pray that God would protect you and guide you in your new job. We ask that He would grant you wisdom and understanding, and that He would help you to discern His will for your life. We pray that you would be able to see the evil one for who he is and that you would be able to stand against him. We ask that you would be filled with the Holy Spirit and that you would be a light to those around you. We pray that you would be able to share the love of Jesus with those around you, and that you would be a blessing to them who do not yet trust in Jesus.
We encourage you to continue to seek God's will for your life and to trust in Him. We know that He is faithful and that He will never leave you nor forsake you. We pray that you would be able to rest in His love and that you would be filled with His peace. We ask that you would be able to live a life that is pleasing to Him and that you would be a blessing to those around you. We pray that you would be able to share the love of Jesus with those around you, and that you would be a light to those who do not yet know Him.
If you have not already, read Romans 10:9-13 and consider these verses. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. For, Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Therefore, we stand with you in prayer, asking that God would grant you wisdom and understanding in your new job. We pray that He would protect you from any demonic influences and attacks and that He would help you to see the evil one for who he is. We ask that you would be filled with the Holy Spirit and that you would be a light to those around you. We pray that you would be able to share the love of Jesus with those around you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
