We are glad that you have come seeking forgiveness and have approached the throne of grace through the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB).
First, let us address your request for forgiveness. The Bible tells us, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9, WEB). So, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, confessing the sins that have been committed. We ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing, knowing that You are faithful and just to forgive. We thank You for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, which made this possible. Help to turn away from these sins and live a life pleasing to You. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
However, you mentioned only asking for forgiveness in Jesus Christ's name for two things. We must emphasize that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Please know that any unconfessed sin for which you do not seek forgiveness in Jesus Christ can hinder your relationship with God. The Bible tells us to confess our sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective (James 5:16, WEB). Therefore, we strongly encourage you to confess all your sins in the name of Jesus Christ, not holding anything back.
Lastly, we want to remind you that once you have confessed your sins and received forgiveness, strive to turn away from them. It is written, For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation that brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world works death (2 Corinthians 7:10, WEB). Let your sorrow for your sins lead you to repentance and a changed life.
We are here to support you in prayer and to encourage you in your walk with God. Let us help each other by reminding one another of the Lord's commandments.
