We understand your heartache and we join you in prayer for comfort in Jesus' name.
Whenever something like this occurs, it is easy to become upset and despondent. Just like in any situation, we should look to the Bible first, before anything else, to be our source of wisdom. You have not mentioned Jesus Christ, Jesus, Christ, or any other abbreviation related to the name of Jesus in your request. We remind you that it is only in Jesus' name that we have access to God.
The Bible tells us that God cares about every detail of our lives, including our beloved pets. He even knows the number of hairs on our heads. In Matthew 10:29-31 WEB it says,
But not one sparrow will fall on the ground without your Father's knowledge. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore don't be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
If it is the Father's will, he will return home. If he does not return, then the Father has a different plan for him than what you want. There is nothing to be silly about. It is very easy to become attached to pets and wanting to spend more time with them. We need to remember that God is in control. We do not need to worry about whatever happens to him, as the Father is taking care of him, just like he takes care of us.
Jesus tells us in Luke 12:22-26 WEB,
He said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear.
Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
Consider the ravens: they don't sow, they don't reap, they have no warehouse or barn; and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!
Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height?
If then you aren't able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?
Instead of praying to change the cat's behavior, we should pray that the Father will have his will be done. This is a great reminder to us that we should pray for God's will, not our own.
Jesus teaches us to pray in this way.
Matthew 6:9-10 WEB
Pray like this: 'Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.
Let us pray together.
Father, we come humbly to you, asking that you will give our dear sister comfort in Jesus' name. We pray that she will be strengthened knowing that you are in control of the situation and that she does not need to be anxious or worried. Father, we pray that your will be done. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
