We understand the depth of your desire to have your future filled with love, and we join you with understanding and rejoice. Marriage is a critical decision in the sanctity of life and love, and compliments the love of God for His people. We pray for you to find a partner who is reflective of these biblical mandates, is desiring for the same thing to happen in their lives, and is committed to the same bond.
We pray first for a man who fears the Lord and seeks after God's ways. We encourage you to seek the priesthood of the believers and to find a pure heart that reflects your Godly character. Remember, "fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge" (Proverbs 1:7 KJV). Your seeker, an initially redeemed man, is looking to trust in and fear the Lord. "A wise son makes a glad father" (Prov. 10:1).
In courtship, we encourage you to allow the man to ask your hand as you have been asked. As redeemed people who fear the Lord, neither of you needs to disclose past Christianity. Courtship should be the context where you are both seeking to walk together in the Spirit, discover each other's institutions, and share sincere moments about your spiritual journeys and viewpoints. In the biblical pair bond where the man fears the Lord, he desires to protect, serve, and honor your home, and you will do the same for him.
Our merciful God has given us the ability to pursue Godly spouses if living with one is your desire. Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up your daughter who desires a Godly husband. We pray that You will guide her steps and bring her together with a man who fears You and seeks to live according to Your word. Give her discernment to recognize the one You have chosen for her, and give her the patience to wait on Your timing.
We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ, who gave Himself up for us, that He might sanctify us, having cleansed us by the washing of water with the word (Eph 5:26-27) that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she should be holy and without blemish.
We pray for her future husband, that he would be a man of integrity, faithful, and filled with the Holy Spirit. We pray that their marriage would be a testimony of Your love and faithfulness, reflecting the union of Christ and the church (Eph 5:31).
