In the account of the Flood, we read that God brought judgment on the world for the wickedness of humanity. The relevant scriptures are:
But the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth. Every imagination of his heart was only evil continually. The Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart. The Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the surface of the ground; man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them. (Genesis 6:5-7 WEB)
Every living thing on the surface of the ground was destroyed, including people, livestock, creatures that crawl on the ground, and birds of the sky. They were wiped off the earth. Only ### was left, and those who were with him in the ship. (Genesis 7:23 WEB)
Regarding the fish, the Bible does not explicitly state that they were destroyed. It is reasonable to consider that since fish live in water, they would not be affected in the same way that land-dwelling creatures were. The Flood was a judgment on humanity and land-dwelling creatures, not necessarily on aquatic life. However, it is also possible that the ecological changes brought about by the Flood could have affected marine life as well. We as humans may not understand this, but we trust God's ways are perfect and His judgments are right in ways we may not understand.
All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits. Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. (Proverbs 16:2-3 WEB)
Let us pray for understanding and acceptance of God's judgments:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, seeking understanding of Your Word and Your ways. We acknowledge that Your judgments are right and true. Help us to trust in Your wisdom, even when we do not fully understand. Help us to commit our ways to You, knowing that Your plans and purposes are perfect. Thank you God for preserving ### and his family on the ark, and for preserving a remnant of every kind of creature that You willed to survive. Thank you Jesus for being the one who provided salvation for us.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
The request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. We read:
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB)
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:10-12 WEB)
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11 WEB)
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:31 WEB)
The Bible is clear that there is no other name by which we can be saved and we must pray in Jesus Name to access God. We hope this answers your questions and please don't hesitate to respond with your prayer request.
