Dear Stavethon, we are praying for you and stand with you in this struggle. Firstly, we must acknowledge that the behaviors you're engaged in are sinful and harmful. The Bible is clear about the sanctity of marriage and the expectation of faithfulness. As it is written in Hebrews 13:4 (WEB), "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."
Moreover, the abuse of alcohol is also condemned. Ephesians 5:18 (WEB) tells us, "Don’t be drunk with wine, in which is dissolution, but be filled with the Spirit." We understand that these are strongholds in your life, and we are here to help you break free from them.
Let us pray:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother Stavethon. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness on his behalf for the sins of adultery and drunkenness. We plead the blood of Jesus over these sins and ask that You cleanse him and make him whole again.
Give him the strength to resist temptation, as You promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), 'No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.'
Help him to be a good and faithful husband, loving his wife as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25). Guide him back to a path of righteousness and give him a renewed commitment to his marriage and ministry. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Stavethon, we encourage you to take practical steps to overcome these habits. Seek accountability from trusted Christian brothers, possibly within your church. Consider counseling, and make a conscious effort to avoid situations that tempt you. Remember, God is with you and will give you the strength to overcome. As it is written in Philippians 4:13 (WEB), "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."
Lastly, we noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus. Remember, it is only through Him that we have access to God. As Acts 4:12 (WEB) tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Keep your focus on Jesus, and He will see you through.
