We understand that you are going through a deep and painful season, Fortan, and we are here to lift you up in prayer and guidance. While you have shown remarkable loyalty and love to your companion for the past 14 years, we must remember that our ultimate loyalty and love belong to God. We are thankful for your heart to pray for and support your companion, even when he does not share your faith.
We want to remind you of the words of God in 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB), "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" As you navigate this difficult time, it's important to reflect on this verse and the significance of being aligned with a believer in Christ.
We also want to address that the comfort and guidance you seek can only be found truly in Jesus Christ. It is in His name that we pray and have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.β
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Fortan who is going through a painful season. Lord, we ask for Your comfort and guidance to surround Fortan during this difficult time. We pray that Your Holy Spirit will strengthen Fortan and remind them of Your unfailing love and promises. We claim Your word in Joel 2:25-26, that You will restore the years that the locust has eaten, and that Fortan will not be put to shame.
Lord, we also pray for Fortan's former companion, that his heart may be opened to the truth of the Gospel and that he may come to know You personally. We ask that You guide Fortan to a godly spouse, a fellow believer in Christ, who will honor and cherish them according to Your will.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Fortan, be encouraged by the words of Psalm 34:18 (WEB), "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Trust in the Lord, and He will see you through this season.
