Sometimes, God answers prayer requests quickly. Back in 1982, Pastor John Arnott was praying for a small church of 120 people in Stratford, Ontario. God answered their prayer and, within weeks, the church grew to over 400 people in attendance.1 However, other times, it may take weeks, months, or even years for our prayers to be answered. It took Pastor Ed Silvoso 15 years before he saw his prayer come to fruition and his city of Resistencia, Argentina come to the Lord Jesus Christ. 2
Sometimes, God answers prayers overnight. Other times, he waits patiently to give us exactly what we need at exactly the right time. On average, it's estimated that answered prayers take around four to seven years to complete.3
Therefore, if you feel overwhelmed and you have not seen your answered prayer, please take heart knowing that it does not mean that God has not heard you or that He is not working. It just means that He is still in the process of orchestrating His perfect plan for your life. Keep trusting, keep believing, and keep praying.
