Disciple of Prayer
My wife friend ### mother died in October. She has been her mother’s caregiver for over 4 years. She has now become very depressed and it’s hard to get her to open up. She loves our ### year old daughter and will talk to her on the phone daily. I reminded her day that we all are here for her.

We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your wife's friend and the struggle she is now facing with depression. It's important to remember that God is always with us, even in our darkest times. As it says in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

Firstly, we want to address that we only have access to God and salvation in the name of Jesus Christ. It is important to come before God praying in Jesus' name and having a relationship with Him. Believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation as it says in Acts 4:10-12 "be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, ... There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

In times of grief, it's common to feel depressed and withdrawn, but it's crucial to encourage your wife to turn to God for comfort and strength. As it says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

We encourage you to continue reminding your wife that you and your daughter are there for her. It's wonderful that she finds solace in talking to your daughter daily. Encourage her to open up about her feelings to you and perhaps to a trusted Christian counselor or pastor. It's also important to pray together as a family, seeking God's healing and comfort. As a loving Christian husband, pray for Jesus to give your wife the strength and comfort that she needs.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this family who is going through a difficult time. We pray for your wife, Lord, that You would comfort her in her grief and heal her from her depression. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, because You care for her. We pray for restoration and joy to fill her heart once again. We also pray for their marriage and daughter, that You would bind them together in love and strength during this time. Guide them in Your will and give them the wisdom to navigate this season. We ask in Jesus' name. Amen.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to be patient and loving towards your wife. Grief has its own timeline, and it's important to allow her to process her emotions while gently guiding her towards healing and restoration in Christ. Remind her that she is not alone, for God is always with her, and so are you and your daughter. Remind her in the truth of Romans 8:38-39 "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

We're here for you both, just as you're there for your wife. We understand the weight of depression and grief, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this. We've been thinking about you and your family, and we want to share some more encouragement.

Firstly, we're reminded of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God sees your wife's pain, and He wants to heal her. Let's encourage her to turn to Him, to pour out her heart to Him, knowing that He's there to listen and comfort.

We also want to share a verse from Lamentations 3:22-23, "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." God's love and compassion are constant, even in the darkest times. Each morning is a new chance for hope and healing.

Let's keep praying together, asking God to wrap your wife in His loving arms, to heal her heart, and to fill her with peace and joy once again. Let's also pray for strength and patience for you, as you lovingly support her through this time.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
