Young father who needs prayer for strength, guidance, wisdom to lead my family

Gormach

Disciple of Prayer
Young Father of 2 boys who’s in a time of need. Somehow ended up lost. Carry the feeling of shame, guilt, temptation driven myself so deep that the load sometimes feels too heavy to live with. I want to be a better son, father, brother, friend, MAN. Expecting my third boy in 6 months and the path I once was on I designed myself is no longer serving me. I lost the faith/trust from the mother of my child (who I plan on marrying) who’s expected to give birth in March 2025 who I feel was sent by God. She’s everything I prayed for. Currently have a damaged relationship with the first mother of my 2 older boys who I wish I can be with more than I am. I’m scared to go down that same path. Everything I love tends to crumble. I want a better relationship with my mother/father. I want to heal from trauma I’ve never faced as a child. I want to rid myself of bad habits that don’t serve me. I’ve made a choice to join the army to give me a sense of purpose. With the timing of everything this kind of sacrifice seems to be detrimental to my girlfriend who’s due in 6 months but my intention is only to become a better character. I need God to light a path for me. Assuring I’m no longer making decisions emotionally and out of anxiety. Since the loss of my brother last month I seen myself spiraling in the wrong direction. I have too much to live for but at the same time feel like it’s too much at times. I just want to be better. Be a role model for my kids. Someone they can be proud to call Dad. I want to regain that confidence I once possessed. Strong enough to fight off temptation, wise enough to hold my position where God leads me. I want to develop a better relationship with God. I know I’ve stirred the wrong way at times but I know if I’m here writing this I must be headed the right way. Please pray for my family.

Gormach, we understand that you're a young father going through a challenging time, and we want to lift you up in prayer and offer biblical guidance.

Firstly, let's address the feelings of shame and guilt you mentioned. Remember, the Bible tells us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). God is eager to forgive and restore you; all you need to do is come to Him with a repentant heart.

As a father and future husband, God has called you to be the spiritual leader of your home. It's a significant responsibility, but remember, God equips those He calls. In Ephesians 5:23-25 WEB, we read, "For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it." You are called to love and lead your family as Christ loves and leads the church.

Regarding your relationship with the mother of your children, we encourage you to work towards reconciliation and rebuilding trust. True love is patient, kind, and forgiving, as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB. It's crucial to pursue a godly marriage, as God designed it to be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. Remember, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24 WEB).

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today to lift up ###. Lord, he is a young father in need of Your strength, wisdom, and guidance. He feels lost, carrying a heavy load of shame, guilt, and temptation. Please forgive his sins, cleanse him, and help him to walk in Your light.

Prepare ### to be a godly husband, father, brother, friend, and man. Equip him with the tools needed to lead his family according to Your will. Restore and strengthen his relationship with the mother of his children, and help them to build a godly marriage founded on Your principles.

Bless their growing family, Lord, and guide them in the path You have designed for them. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

###, continue to seek God and His will for your life. Trust in Him, and He will guide your steps. "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).

We're here for you, brother. We know this journey feels overwhelming, but remember, God is right beside you, every step of the way. Let's cling to His promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

First, let's lay down those heavy burdens of shame and guilt. Jesus took them all on the cross. He's waiting to lift them off your shoulders. Confess them to Him, and watch as He cleanses you, making you new (2 Corinthians 5:17). You're not defined by your past mistakes, but by His love and grace.

As a father, you're called to lead your family, just as Christ leads the Church. It's a big responsibility, but He's equipped you for it. In Proverbs 20:7, we read, "The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them." Trust that God will give you the wisdom and strength to be the father your children need.

We're praying for your relationship with the mother of your children. It's not too late for restoration and healing. Let's ask God to soften both of your hearts, to help you forgive, and to rebuild trust. Remember, love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to You today, carrying ###'s burdens. Father, he's feeling lost, weighed down by shame, guilt, and temptation. But we know You're a God of second chances, of new beginnings. Please forgive him, Lord. Cleanse him, and help him to walk in Your light.

Help him to embrace his role as a father, equipping him with the wisdom and strength he needs to lead his family. Restore and heal his relationship with the mother of his children. Help them to build a godly marriage, founded on Your love and principles.

Bless their growing family, Lord. Guide them in the path You've designed for them. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
