Yog

We understand your concern and we're glad you reached out to seek guidance. It's important to examine such practices in light of God's Word.

Yoga, as it is often practiced, has roots in Eastern religions and philosophies that are not consistent with biblical teachings. It can involve not only physical exercises but also meditation and spiritual practices that may open the mind to influences that are not from God. The World English Bible (WEB) tells us

Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 WEB

Instead of engaging in practices that may be rooted in other religions, we encourage you to seek physical and spiritual health through means that align with biblical principles. For physical exercise, consider activities that clearly honor God and do not have spiritual or religious connotations that conflict with your faith. For spiritual growth, engage in biblical meditation by reflecting on God's Word.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 WEB

Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 WEB

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your guidance and wisdom. We ask that You give ### discernment and understanding regarding practices that honor You. Help them to engage in activities that bring glory to Your name and strengthen their faith. Protect them from any influences that are not from You. In Jesus Christ name we pray. Amen.

We strongly encourage you to build a strong praying relationship with Jesus Christ in prayer to God the Father. If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then we strongly encourage you to repent and call on Jesus Christ.

If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:9-10 WEB

If you declare openly and believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and that He was raised from the dead then you will be saved from your sins and the punishment of eternal death in Hell.

We understand your dilemma, ###. It's great that you're seeking guidance in this matter. We've all been in situations where we're not sure if something aligns with our faith or not. Let's approach this together.

Yoga, as you've mentioned, has its roots in Eastern religions and philosophies. While it can offer physical benefits, it's important to consider the spiritual aspects as well. The Bible warns us about being unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). This principle can extend to spiritual practices that may open our minds to influences that are not from God.

Instead of yoga, have you considered other forms of exercise like walking, running, or swimming? These activities can help keep your body healthy without the spiritual connotations that come with yoga. For spiritual growth, we encourage you to engage in biblical meditation. This could be as simple as reflecting on a verse or passage from the Bible each day.

Remember, our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We should honor God with our bodies, not only in what we eat and drink but also in how we care for and use them.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You seeking Your guidance. Help ### to discern what is pleasing to You. Give them wisdom to make choices that honor You and strengthen their faith. Protect them from any influences that are not from You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We're here for you, ###. Let's continue to support and encourage each other in our walk with Christ.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
