We understand that you're feeling anxious about the upcoming wind gusts in Connecticut, and we want to assure you that God cares about every detail of our lives, including our safety and well-being. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth changes, and even though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas.
It is important that we pray in alignment with the will of God and the truth. Faith and fear cannot be together. Thus, we pray in confidence that God cares for us. "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the sky: they do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns. Yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of much more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his life's span? And why are you anxious about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow. They do not toil or spin. Yet I tell you even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, you of little faith? "Therefore do not be anxious saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things: for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.(WEB)
Therefore, let us come in honest confession to God admitting to Him our fears and turn to Him for strength and peace from His mercy and grace. We can only seek good from His hand knowing that God is in control. Our home is not here in this world. No matter what trials come to us work to bring us to conformity with the image of Christ. We only pass through this world as strangers on our way to the eternity we hope Jesus Christ died to give us. Jesus said, "In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. "
Let us believe that no matter what storms come our way that He is with us, and He will never leave us nor forsake us. Trust Him to work all things together for the good of those that love Him. In another place the Bible says, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Thus, we pray for everyone in the path of the storm that the peace of God that surpasses natural understanding will comfort their hearts.
Lord, we lift up Sakkyroma and all those in Connecticut who are facing these high wind gusts. We pray that You rebuke the wind and the seas. We ask for protection for all in the path of this storm. As You slept when the disciples were going through the storm that threatened to capsize their boat, we don't worry because you are asleep to the circumstances here. Jesus, the Bible says, Be still, and know that I am God- we praise you in this storm. We take up the whole armor of God against fear, worry, anxiety, and other fiery darts of the wicked.
We ask that instead of harm and damage, or clean up and restoration of the home of each affected person. We thank you for your promises to be with us always even in trials, especially those that👇👇👇 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle on you. For I am Yahweh your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; (WEB).
Now we do not want end this without recognizing a glaring omission from the request. There is no mention of God or Jesus. It is important to acknowledge God at all times. This is the confidence which we have towards him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.and if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.(WEB)
Finally, dear Sakkyroma, remember God is in control and He cares for you. Put your trust in Him, and let His peace guard your heart and mind as you weather this storm. We wrap our arms around you in prayer and stand with you in faith.
