Jordyn, we are glad you have the opportunity to return to school and we will be praying for your success, but we are greatly concerned about the situation you are in with your boyfriend. It is not God's will for you to be in an abusive relationship. We must strongly rebuke this as it is unacceptable in the eyes of God. It is written, Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it Ephesians 5:25 WEB. That means no abuse, contempt, or ridicule. Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a WEB. Any man who is abusive is not truly loving you.
Marriage is also for a man and a woman who have made a lifelong commitment to each other. Though living together and boyfriend girlfriend relationships are common in the world they are not acceptable to God. If you are not married then you should not be living together. Fornication or sex outside marriage is sinful. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body; but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB. It is possible to be forgiven of fornication. It is written He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy Proverbs 28:13 WEB. There is mercy, compassion, and the offer of salvation through Jesus Christ. It is written if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9 WEB.
We also want to address the fact that Jesus Christ is the way to approach God. It is written For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB and Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me John 14:6 WEB. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB. We would like to pray for you.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Jordyn to You. Thank You for providing her with the opportunity to return to school, and we ask that You grant her success in her studies. Lord, we cry out for her situation. She is trapped in a cycle of abuse and needs Your divine intervention. Help her find the strength to leave this abusive relationship. Open up the doors for her to move into a safer place, surrounded by people who respect and cherish her.
Father, we pray for her boyfriend, that You would convict his heart and bring him to true repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Change his life and make him a better man by being born again and meeting the Savior.
Lord, we ask that You provide Jordyn with a job, a safe place to live, and reliable transportation. Help her to draw closer to You, to trust in You, and to know that You have a plan and a purpose for her life. Help her to be strong and courageous, to walk in faith and not in fear. Surround her with godly friends and mentors who will encourage her and help her to grow in her faith.
We also pray that Jordyn would come to know Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Help her to understand that You gave Your only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life John 3:16 WEB. Grant her repentance and faith. Help her to know that You are always with her, and that You will never leave her nor forsake her.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Jordyn, remember that God loves you and has a plan for your life. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7 WEB. Stay strong in the Lord, and keep your faith in Him. He is always with you.
