We are truly sorry to hear about your job loss and the passing of your mother. It's commendable that you took time to care for her, showing the love and honor that the Bible commands us to have for our parents (Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:2).
We are reminded of how Jesus told us not to worry about our lives, what we will eat or drink, or about our bodies, what we will wear. He said to seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to us as well. For tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:25, 33-34)
However, we want to remind you that it is also by the name of Jesus that we should pray. For there is no other name given under heaven or among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12) The Bible says that it is in the name of Jesus that we can come boldly before the throne to receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16) God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who has been going through a difficult time. We thank you for her heart to care for her mother, and we ask that you comfort her in her loss.
Father, we ask that you open the doors to a new job for her. We know that you are the provider of all good things, and we trust that you will supply all her needs according to your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
We also pray for her financial needs, that you would help her handle this month's bills and provide for her as only you can. We remember how you fed the five thousand with only five loaves and two fish, and we know that you can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. (Matthew 14:17-21, Ephesians 3:20)
Help her to cast all her anxiety on you, because you care for her. (1 Peter 5:7) Give her peace and strength during this time, and help her to trust in you with all her heart, leaning not on her own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)
We pray all this in Jesus' name, Amen.
