We understand that you are seeking work in aged care after moving to a new area, and you have concerns about your employment gaps and vaccination status. Firstly, we commend you for seeking work that cares for the elderly, as this is a true calling of service and love for others. We are reminded of this in 1 Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, use it for one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.
However, we must address a couple of things before we pray. Regarding the issue of vaccination, it is important to note that the Bible calls us to obey the laws of the land and those in authority, unless they directly contradict God's commands. In Romans 13:1-2, we read Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
Moreover, we are called to consider the well-being of others, especially those who are vulnerable, such as the elderly. In Philippians 2:3-4, we are told Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Regarding vaccination, some would consider this to be a controversial topic. If you have sincere spiritual convictions regarding this, we would encourage you to discuss your concerns pastorally with a Christian Believer and also to research and consider this topic thoroughly and prayerfully.
Now, let us pray together for God's provision and guidance.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking work in aged care. We pray that You would open the right doors for employment, and that potential families would see the heart and experience that they have in caring for the elderly. We ask that You would provide a job that aligns with Your will, where they can serve and be a blessing to others. We also trust in your timing and provision as they step out in faith.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and guidance regarding the vaccination issue. We ask that You would lead them to the right people and resources to help them make an informed decision that honors You and considers the well-being of others.
We claim Your promise in Matthew 6:33 But seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue trusting in God's provision and timing. Remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and He is always working for our good and His glory. As you walk in obedience and faith, He will direct your paths and provide for your needs. We will be praying for you and believe that God will open the right doors for you.
