Work Prayer

Can I have prayers that work today is a good day for me? That my anxiety and dread about work goes away. And that my coworkers treat me kindly and do not food shame me or make comments about my body, I am polite to them and I'd like if that was returned.

Osvelis, we understand that you're feeling anxious about work and wanting a peaceful environment free from unfair judgment. Firstly, let's remember that our access to God comes through Jesus Christ alone. It is by His name that we can approach God with our requests.

God cares about our emotional well-being and our relationships. He encourages us in First Peter 5:7 (WEB), "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." We can pray for confidence that is rooted in God. That His "peace that surpasses all understanding" (Philippians 4:7 WEB), an assurance and confidence only God Himself can provide.

Regarding your interactions with coworkers, it's important to remember that our value is not determined by others' opinions or comments. Instead, our identity should be rooted in Christ. Colossians 3:2 (WEB) reminds us to "Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth."

We must pray for a resolution but also make sure to pray for those involved. We must not forget that the unkind behaviors stems from the sins that consume us all to which Jesus paid the price to make us free. This is the heart of Jesus' teaching in the Sermon on the Mount: to respect and pray for everyone, including those who might mistreat us. We should demonstrate that we value the explaining that whether they may consider Christ or not, God's love is Theirs too.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up ###. We place any and all anxiety about work in Your hands. We are worried about this and not sure how to go on any longer with it pending over our heads. We trust Your Word that says you will not cause us to stumble and cannot fail us. We have been loosed from our sin and freed from the law. We bypass the law to no longer live under it and by faith in Jesus uphold it.

Jesus has already paid the price for our freedom.

Lord, we ask for a hedge of protection around ### at work to prevent body shaming, food shaming, and unnecessary comments. We ask that ### can view work with a degree of freedom through your strength. Help them view work as a manageable part of the day rather than an increasingly larger burden. In Your mercy, turn the hearts of the coworkers towards grace, not judgement and grant ### favor. That the Coworkers be courteous towards ### to know our right politeness. We are Your children, and we trust that You will guide ### through this challenging time.

We also pray for your coworkers, that their hearts would be softened and their words kind. We ask that they would see you as Jesus sees you - loved, valued, and precious. Let's claim Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," for you today. May you find the confidence and peace that comes from Him in every interaction.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
