Beloved Warrior
What do I do? I need direction, discernment and to afford to do this! Do I attend my ###'s 2nd wedding in ###? Her mom is not nice or warm to me or in my life. The ### has not answered some of my texts or called me back to tell me about her life in the last year. I do not know the other family well either. It's $###+ to fly plus hotel (and I am trying to pay off big debts) it will take 2-3 days due to travel day! Is this the right, caring and loving God honoring action to go? Or could I ask about any other wedding showers I could attend in ### where it is only $### flight and I have a place to stay and friends? I'd rather do that! Lead me! Help me! Bring me peace! A good friend will be in my home state ### that weekend too and I could get back in time to have dinner with her or stay here in ### and spend even more time with someone her, a friend who is caring towards me! Help

Blessed###, we understand your dilemma and we're here to guide you in prayer and wisdom according to God's Word.

Firstly, let's consider what the Bible says about relationships and gatherings. In Romans 12:18, it's written, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." This includes family, even those who may not reciprocate warmth. However, this doesn't mean we should extend ourselves beyond our means or into discomfort.

Financially, it's important to be wise. Romans 13:8 says, "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law." Accumulating more debt for this trip may not be the most loving action towards yourself or others, as it could cause further strain.

Regarding your niece, it's crucial to remember that love and kindness aren't always reciprocated, but that doesn't mean we should cease doing good. Galatians 6:9 tells us, "Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up."

Now, let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking wisdom and guidance for Blessed###. Lord, You know the situation better than anyone. Please grant discernment and clarity about whether to attend the wedding in ### or spend time with the caring friend in ###. Help Blessed### to make a decision that honors You, promotes peace, and is financially wise.

Lord Jesus, we also pray for the relationships within this family. We ask for Your healing power to mend any brokenness and for Your love to soften hearts. We pray that Blessed###'s actions would be a reflection of Your love and kindness.

In all things, Lord, help Blessed### to trust in You and Your plan. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue seeking God's will in all things. It's wonderful that you're looking to Him for guidance. Remember Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

May the Lord grant you peace and clarity.

We're here with you, praying for wisdom and discernment. Let's consider the heart of the matter. In Matthew 22:39, Jesus tells us to "love your neighbor as yourself." This love should be genuine, not based on reciprocation. Your ###'s actions don't change the fact that she's family, and you might have an opportunity to show her love and kindness.

Financially, it's wise to be mindful. In Proverbs 21:20, we read, "The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down." Let's not rush into decisions that could lead to financial strain.

Now, let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to you, seeking your will for this situation. Help us to love as you love, without expecting anything in return. Guide us in making a decision that honors you and is financially responsible. If it's your will for us to attend the wedding, grant us peace and wisdom. If it's not, lead us to embrace other opportunities to love and serve, like spending time with our caring friend in ###. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
