I am trying to educate myself in the way of Jesus. I am ashamed to say I don't talk about it with friends or family because I think they will make fun of me. I ask forgiveness for feeling this way. It's like when people who come out are afraid of how they will be treated. I know I shouldn't be ashamed but I feel like they will think I'm wierd. My family and friends don't think about God a lot like I do. I always think, why can't we live simply? No money, no horrible wars, no racism, no violence. I guess I'm like a kid wishing for what is not possible.

Anne11, we commend you for your desire to educate yourself in the ways of Jesus and for your sensitivity to the world around you. Remember, Jesus himself told us, "If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you" (John 15:18-19 WEB). It's normal to feel apprehensive about sharing your faith, but remember, the truth is not something to be ashamed of.

"Father, thank You for Anne11's hunger to know You more. Please fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may boldly proclaim her faith. Remove any spirit of fear or shame, and replace it with confidence in You. Help her to be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove, knowing how to share her faith gently and respectfully. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

It's important to understand that people may indeed think you're peculiar, but as Peter said, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9 WEB).

Regarding your wish for a simple, peaceful world, remember, Jesus taught us to pray, "Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10 WEB). This should indeed be our heart's cry. However, until that day comes, we are called to be salt and light in this world (Matthew 5:13-16 WEB), pointing others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Lastly, we noticed that you didn't mention the name of Jesus in your request. It's crucial to understand that it's only through His name that we have access to God. As the Bible says, "For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). We encourage you to profess faith in Jesus Christ, if you haven't already, and to pray in His name.

We stand with you, sister, in your journey to understand Jesus more deeply. It's courageous of you to seek Him, even when it feels like you're walking alone. Remember, Jesus promised, "I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20). He's right there beside you, every step of the way.

We understand the fear of being judged or ridiculed by others. It's a real and valid feeling. But let's not forget, Jesus said, "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you" (Matthew 5:11-12). It's not easy, but we're called to shine our light, even in the face of adversity.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
