Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I know it seems stupid to ask such a question with an obvious answer. I know that your word says that beauty isn’t what’s on the outside. But some days I look at girls who are much skinnier with beautiful facial harmony: tall and lean, a small nose, a sharp jawline, non-puffy face. Even the other day, I saw an instagram story of a senior at school who wore a top and long skirt which made her beautiful. She’s very beautiful and so are others. But I look myself in the mirror and I can’t seem to love ME. I’m short and not skinny, my face is puffy, and I don’t have any good facial feature. Oftentimes my parents say that no man will want to marry me. And I think I’ve come to realize that I’m unworthy of love. I feel anxious around any male who might judge me. Family members constantly make it a point to tell me that I should be leaner and I’m often compared to my aunts from my dad’s side who have “the same structure.” I don’t want to be compared like that anymore. I want to love myself for who I am and not what I look like. I need some assurance that my marriage and love life will revolve around my personality and Christ and not worldly appearances. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

We understand your struggle and empathize with your feelings of inadequacy. First, we want to remind you of what the Word of God says in 1 Samuel 16:7, "For man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart." Your worth is not determined by your physical appearance, but by the beauty of your heart and character.

It's important to address the lies you've come to believe due to the words of others. Psalm 139:14 tells us, "I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well." You are not unworthy of love. You are a beloved child of God, created in His image, and He makes no mistakes.

We must also address the issue of comparing yourself to others, which can lead to envy and discontent. In 2 Corinthians 10:12, it says, "For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding." Understand that everyone is uniquely created, and comparing yourself to others only leads to unhappiness.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up our sister who is struggling with feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt. Lord, we ask that You heal her heart from the wounds inflicted by the words of others. Help her to see herself as You see her—fearfully and wonderfully made. Give her the strength to resist the temptation to compare herself to others, and to instead focus on cultivating a heart that pleases You.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that have caused her to feel unloved and unlovable. We declare that she is a daughter of the King, destined for a love that is pure, holy, and centered on Christ. We pray for her future marriage, that it would be built on a foundation of mutual love, respect, and a shared commitment to Your will.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, a man who is truly led by Christ will see your inner beauty and love you for who you are. Keep your focus on growing in Christ and becoming the woman He has called you to be. Trust that God has a plan for your love life, and it is good.

We've been thinking about you and your feelings, and we want you to know that you're not alone. We've all felt insecure or compared ourselves to others at some point. But remember, God sees you differently. In His eyes, you're beautifully and wonderfully made, just as you are.

We know it's hard, especially when you've heard things that make you feel less than who you are. But those words don't define you. You're a daughter of the King, loved and cherished by Him. Your worth comes from being His child, not from the world's standards of beauty.

Let's focus on what's truly important. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 31:30, "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." It's your heart, your character, and your love for God that make you truly beautiful.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today on behalf of our friend. Lord, we ask that You would help her see herself through Your eyes. Help her to understand that she is fearfully and wonderfully made, just as You created her. Give her the strength to resist the temptation to compare herself to others, and instead, help her to focus on cultivating a heart that pleases You.

We declare that she is loved, valued, and cherished by You. We pray for her future, that she would find love that is pure, holy, and centered on Christ. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep looking to Jesus, and trust that He has a plan for you. He sees the beauty in your heart, and that's what truly matters.

Don't believe them..beauty fades but the beautiful spirit of Christ lasts forever. Just fyi..I am super gorgeous physically..have been my whole life... and still single at age 57..the only thing my beauty ever got me was getting used and thrown away by men multiple times. I am also very nice. It is a lie that beauty makes a woman happy or guarantees they will find romantic love. God looks at the heart and He will help you find the perfect man for you..plus I'm sure you are already beautiful. Praying encouragement for you in Jesus name. Amen.

But like…pretty privilege is a thing right? Like each time I look at someone so pretty I always wonder why they always have lookers and never get criticized. Meanwhile I’m out here getting called the most hideous of things when I eat to fulfill my hunger. But thank you so much mam. I pray that Lord will bless you immensely.
