We understand that you're feeling lonely and seeking someone to talk with about the Lord. First, we want to assure you that you're not alone, and God is always with you. As it says in Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for Yahweh your God goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you."
However, we want to address something first. You mentioned that you're not seeking a husband, but just someone to talk with about the Lord. While we understand your desire for companionship and fellowship, we want to encourage you to keep your heart open to God's will in all areas of your life, including marriage. God's design for most people includes marriage as a reflection of Christ's relationship with the church (Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB).
Now, let's address your feelings of loneliness. We encourage you to reach out to your local church community or a faith-based group where you can connect with others who share your beliefs. Engaging in church activities, Bible study groups, or volunteer opportunities can provide a sense of community and companionship. Additionally, online forums or social media groups focused on faith discussions might offer a platform to connect with like-minded individuals.
Remember, God understands your feelings of loneliness. He too was lonely in the garden as His disciples could not pray with Him and then fled when trouble came. Jesus was lonely and isolated on the cross. He did it for us so we would not have to be lonely and isolated. It says in Hebrews 4:15-16 WEB, "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up our sister in Christ to you, asking for your comfort and guidance during this time of loneliness. Help her to feel your presence and to trust in your will for her life.
In Jesus' name, we pray for godly friendships to enter her life—friendships that will encourage and strengthen her faith. If it is your will, we also pray for a godly husband with whom she can share her life and love for you.
We pray this in Jesus Christ's name. All glory to God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
It is important to pray and discuss our lives in the name of Jesus Christ. This is not a magical or a mystical formula, but it is based on Scripture. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. We read in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
As you seek fellowship and community, keep your heart open to God's will and trust in His timing. He knows your needs and desires better than anyone else.
