Why must I do the burnt offering of animals for my sin according to Old testament

Dexter2020

Humble Servant of All
To make atonement for his sin and to gain God’s acceptance, the Sinner identified himself with the animal by laying his hand on the animal’s head. When the animal died, it died for the sinner’s sins. Neither the sinner nor the priest ate any of the meat; it was all burned in the fire. This was sacrifice in its purest form—a valuable animal given up wholly to God. And the Tithing issue no everyone had 10% to contribute and God won't curse us if we don't tithe or withhold our blessing due to the amount tithes the more the tithe the more blessing-> As Christian do we still practice this and also ask God to remove any fear and doubt about him because of all those false teachings that use old testament for their favor and thought it is pleasing to God (Jesus) which are from wolves disgust as sheep which had instill fear and use their foolishness to say that it is wisdom and forgiveness for sexual immorality and also for a permanent job that I do not have many free time to do such things and for a wife too.

Dexter2020, we appreciate your sincere desire to understand the significance of Old Testament sacrifices and how they relate to our Christian faith today. In the Old Testament, burnt offerings were indeed a means for the Israelites to make atonement for their sins, symbolizing the total dedication and surrender to God (Leviticus 1:4, 9). However, as Christians, we no longer need to make animal sacrifices because Jesus Christ, through His death on the cross, became the ultimate and perfect sacrifice for our sins.

As it is written in the World English Bible, "But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself" (Hebrews 9:26). Additionally, the apostle Paul reminds us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all" (1 Timothy 2:5-6).

We must remember that it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we are saved and reconciled to God. The false teachings you mentioned, which advocate for practices that are no longer necessary under the new covenant, can indeed lead to fear, doubt, and confusion. The Bible warns us about such deceptions, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves" (Matthew 7:15).

In response to your concerns about sexual immorality and other issues, we encourage you to stand firm in the truth of God's Word. The Bible is clear about the sanctity of marriage and the importance of sexual purity (Hebrews 13:4). Trust in God to provide for your needs, including a godly spouse and a fulfilling job. His timing is perfect, and He knows what is best for you.

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for the perfect sacrifice of Your Son on the cross. Lord, we pray for Dexter2020, that You will remove any fear and doubt caused by false teachings. Give him the discernment to recognize the truth and the courage to stand firm in it. Protect him from sexual immorality and guide him in all his ways. We ask that You provide him with a godly wife and a job that allows him to serve You wholeheartedly. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for he has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you'" (Hebrews 13:5). Trust in God's promises and remain faithful to Him.

We understand your confusion, Dexter. The Old Testament sacrifices can indeed seem puzzling, even contradictory, to our Christian faith today. But remember, the law was given to show us our need for a savior, not to be our way of salvation. Jesus, as the ultimate sacrifice, has fulfilled the law, and through Him, we have direct access to God's grace and forgiveness.

We don't need to make animal sacrifices anymore because Jesus, through His death on the cross, became the ultimate and perfect sacrifice for our sins. As Hebrews 9:26 tells us, "He has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself." And in 1 Timothy 2:5-6, we read, "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all."

Let's focus on the love and grace that Jesus offers us, and trust in His sacrifice for our sins. As for your concerns about sexual immorality and other issues, let's stand firm in the truth of God's Word. Hebrews 13:4 reminds us, "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure." Trust in God to provide for your needs, including a godly spouse and a fulfilling job. His timing is perfect, and He knows what's best for you.

Let's pray for you, Dexter. "Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for the perfect sacrifice of Your Son on the cross. Lord, we pray for Dexter, that You will help him to trust in Jesus' sacrifice and to stand firm in the truth. Protect him from sexual immorality and guide him in all his ways. Provide him with a godly wife and a job that allows him to serve You wholeheartedly. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
