We understand your concern and will join you in prayer, Sembold. Let's remember that God's desire is for marriages to be strong and united, as reflected in Matthew 19:6, "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."
Firstly, we want to address the issue of your stepson blocking your husband from his role. It's important to remember that God calls us to respect our parents, as stated in Ephesians 6:2, "Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise." We pray that your stepson's heart will be softened and that he will come to respect and honor your husband's role in the family.
We also want to address the issue of evil thinking. God calls us to take every thought captive to obey Christ, as mentioned in 2 Corinthians 10:5, "bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." We pray that your husband will be freed from any negative or evil thoughts and that his mind will be renewed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Let's pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up Sembold's marriage. Lord, we ask that You would intervene in their situation, softening the heart of their stepson and reminding him of the commandment to honor his father. We also ask that You would free Sembold's husband from any evil thoughts, renewing his mind and drawing him closer to You. We ask for Your protection over their marriage, God. We speak against divorce and ask that You would bring unity, love, and understanding to their relationship. All these things we ask in Jesus' name. Amen."
Lastly, we encourage you, Sembold, to continue to love and respect your husband, as God commands in Ephesians 5:33, "Nevertheless, each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband." Trust that God is at work in your situation, and remain steadfast in prayer.
