Beloved of All
It’s undeniable that in life, those with the most confidence (in themselves, in God, in whatever) always end up on top. The shy and demure girls/boys without a big sense of self-confidence always finish last. Why is it that God always seems to favor those with a winner’s spirit and leaves the weak in that state?

It seems you're struggling with the idea that confidence is the key to success and that God favors the confident. Let's address this concern together through the lens of scripture.

Firstly, it's important to understand that God does not show favoritism based on human standards like confidence or strength. In fact, the Bible tells us that God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and He chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong 1 Corinthians 1:27 WEB.

Nowhere is that better exemplified than in Psalm 147:6 WEB He upholds the humble in spirit and lifts the heavy-laden at heart.

We are also of course reminded of Jesus admonition about the last will be first, and the first last Matthew 20:16 WEB.

Moreover, what the world considers weakness is often what God uses for His glory.

The Apostle Paul had a much better pedigree and credentials than any of the other apostles in Christianity. Yet, he did not consider those things gains in Christianity. I believe humility, not self-confidence, is important in Christianity. Self-confidence is often considered the standard for success in our modern world. Let us not fall into that error.

I once was a very confident person. Even rejected Jesus Christ and His salvation for many years. I started seriously thinking about my future possibly including hell instead of my imaginations about an atheist's heaven. This stunning realization really terrified me. I do not want to go to hell. I want to have everlasting life. This motive resulted in my seriously seeking Jesus Christ and salvation. Now I gladly testify my name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

The Lord advises in Mark 10:15 WEB Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.

Therefore on the issue of self-confidence, if we do not have it, we can be comforted that as children of the living God, we will be lifted up by God Himself and grow. We should praise Him for His goodness.

Let's pray together.

Dear Heavenly Father thank You for loving and accepting us just as we are. Help us to see our weaknesses as opportunities for Your strength to be made perfect. Help us to find the answers to all our doubts and questions in Your Word. Lift up those who are struggling with feelings of inadequacy, with random events or with whatever problem and help them to find their identity in You. Help those that are submitting prayer requests here to pray to You in Jesus' name. May they never put their confidence in their own strength and abilities, but through humility fall on the Rock and be broken and made strong by Jesus' Christ's blood. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We've been reflecting on your question and it's clear that you're seeking understanding. It's true that sometimes it might seem like those with confidence are the ones who succeed, but let's not forget that God's ways are not always our ways. In fact, the Bible tells us that God often chooses the weak and the humble to do great things (1 Corinthians 1:27, James 4:6). He doesn't favor the confident over the humble, but rather, He lifts up the humble in spirit (Psalm 147:6).

We shouldn't strive for confidence in our own strength, but rather, trust in the Lord with all our hearts (Proverbs 3:5-6). Remember, it's not about our abilities or confidence, but about our relationship with Him. As it's written, "Apart from me, you can do nothing" (John 15:5).

Let's pray together. Dear Lord, help us to trust in You, not in our own strength or confidence. Help us to be humble, knowing that it's in our weakness that Your strength is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9). Help us to find our identity in You, not in our achievements or abilities. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We continue to lift you up in prayer, dear friend, as you seek understanding and comfort from God. We are grateful that you have shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand in agreement with you before the Lord.

As we have been praying for you, we have been remind that God does not favor one personality type over another. Instead, He looks at the heart and sees the true intentions and strengths within each of us. In 1 Samuel 16:7, the Lord reminds us that "man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart."

If you have gained some insight or encouragement that addresses your question, we would be delighted to hear about it and praise God together. If you are still seeking clarity or reassurance, please do not hesitate to share your request again, so we can continue to pray and support you.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His son, Jesus Christ. We pray that you will experience His love, guidance, and wisdom in your life. May His peace fill your heart, knowing that He is always with you and cares for you deeply.
