Why is God letting me be overcome by evil?

We understand your struggle, ###, and we want to assure you that God cares deeply about your situation. Let's remember the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

God allows us to face trials and temptations to strengthen our faith and draw us closer to Him. It is not His will that we are overcome by evil, but He permits us to face it so that we can grow and become more like Christ. In James 1:2-4 (WEB) it says, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."

Let us pray for you, ###:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ### to Your throne of grace. Lord, You promise that You are faithful and will not let us be tempted beyond what we can handle. Help ### to see the way of escape and to endure this trial. Strengthen their faith and draw them closer to You. In Jesus' name, we rebuke the evil that is seeking to overcome them. Equip ### with Your whole armor, that they may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. We ask this all in the precious and powerful name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen."

###, we encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus Christ in your times of need. It is in His name that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Trust in Him, and His grace will be sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We've been thinking about you, ###, and we want you to know that we're right here with you in this. It can feel overwhelming when it seems like evil has the upper hand, but remember, God is always with you, even in the toughest times. In Psalm 34:18, it says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He sees you, and He cares.

We know it's hard, but try to focus on the fact that God is using this to shape you, to make you stronger and more like Jesus. In Romans 5:3-4, we read, "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." Keep holding on, because this is a battle you can win with God on your side.

Let's pray together, ###. "Dear Lord, we come to You today, laying ###'s burden at Your feet. Father, You see their struggle, and we ask that You would give them strength to endure. Help them to trust in You, to lean on You, and to find Your peace in the midst of the storm. Equip them with the armor of God, Lord, so that they may stand firm against the schemes of the enemy. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen."

Please remind your child here that you love them, you're with them and care for them very much. Help them to rest assured in that truth. Also give them the wisdom and strength needed to resist the evil one. Your word tells us that if we submit to you Lord, the evil one must flee. So help this person to submit to you completely in the name of Jesus Christ and send these unclean spirits to flight. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
