Why do we need Holy Spirit in our life?

He Cleanses and sanctifies us.
1 Corinthians 6:11
But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

2 Thessalonians 2:13
God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

1 Peter 1:2
who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood:

He intercede in our weakness
Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

Our teacher and our advocate.
John 14:26
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Counsellor/ helper/ comforter/ encourager.
John 14:16-17
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another counselor/helper/comforter/encourager to be with you forever. The Spirit of truth.”

That word counselor has a number of English translations. It’s also translated as helper, or comforter, or my favorite one encourager.

A guide who will lead you in truth.
John 16 :13
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.

He gives strength and boldness to testify and preach about our God.
Acts 2:3-4
They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit
Act 2 : 14
Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd:
( Peter was just a fisherman )

He will convict about sin, and rhiteousness and judjement
John 16:8
When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:

He blesses us with gifts and fruits.
1 Corinthians 12 : 8-10
8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

Galatians 5 : 22 - 23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness and self-control.

He protects us from our enemies.
Zechariah 2:5
And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord,
Isaiah 59:19
When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
Hebrews 12:29
For our God is a consuming fire.

Now we have come to the most important point, how to invite Holy Spirit in us?

Luke 11:9-10
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you;seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

ASK.
How to ask?
Ask with thirst.

SEEK .
How to seek ?
By searching in the word of God about Holy Spirit and His power. ( both in Old Testament and new Testament)

KNOCK.
How to knock?
Knock the HEAVEN by claiming the promises. The doors of Heaven will open for mighty outpouring of Holy Spirit.

One of those promises
Luke 11: 11-13
“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the HOLY SPIRIT to those who ask him!”

Psalm 138:2
for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Yes, He is faithful in His word.

Without the precious Holy Spirit in our life, we will be so alone in this world, so sad and lost. It is the Spirit of Comfort and Mercy that lead us all to heaven.

Jesus is ALIVE, he has resurrected!! I just had a long conversation with my brother and he is a scientifique mind, only arguments, only believes what he sees, and i had problem to explain to him anything. But at the end of this wrestling with him, Holy spirit told me HE IS ALIVE, He is not only a historique personality, He is the reason we live, resurrected in His death, we live, and not we, but Christ in us. This will never be possible if Holy spirit would not come down to the earth as the power never seen before. In firy tongues, in miracles of healing, in power of forgiveness etc etc...Holy spirit gave me back strength and conviction for our cause of Christ, amen!! HE IS ALIVE!! Resurrection makes Him different from every other false God, amen!!
