We are excited to join you in prayer and consideration as you seek God's will for your future studies. Remember, God has a plan and purpose for each of us, and He wants to guide us into that path. As Psalm 32:8 says, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with my eye."
Firstly, we notice that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As the WEB says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" We will pray in Jesus' name as it is the only name by which we can be saved.
Now, let's address your concern. It's wonderful that you are seeking God's will in this decision. As Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
To help you make this decision, consider your God-given talents, passions, and how you can serve others through your career. As Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them."
Here is our prayer for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for this young life seeking Your will. Lord, You know the plans You have for this child, plans to prosper and not to harm, plans to hope and a future. Guide them in this decision for his future. Show them what path he should choose, and let the Holy Spirit fill them with clarity.
God you have said in your word that if any man lacks wisdom let him ask of You who gives to all men liberally and without reproach (James 1:5). Help them to be steadfast in You, and to wait on Your direction. Let them grow in the knowledge of You and Your word as they step into this new journey. Keep them from worldly distractions and temptations that may come into their life at the university. Let them take courage from the Psalmist who said, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path" (Psalms 119:105). Help them to always walk in this light.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
May God bless you and keep you in His will. Consider spending time in prayer and fasting as you seek God's direction. Be patient and trust in His timing, knowing that He has a good, pleasing, and perfect will for you (Romans 12:2).
