Where do animals go after death?

I have a curious mind. When a person I knew pretty well has died, thinking of them in life, and looking at their body, not having the knowledge of God,{whether they became saved before death or not} I sometimes wonder where their soul went, and just what they experienced after death. We know there are only 2 places a deceased human goes,Heaven or Hell. But now, I bring before you possibly an even harder question to answer--what about animals? We read of animals in Heaven--Jesus riding on a white horse, etc. However, the ones who died in the body, where do they go? I've heard differing views from different Christians on this ,but are there verses in the Bible to confirm that animals either "fade into nothingness", or continue on,as we do? Anything dogmatic?

I really hope to see all my poodles, my beautiful persian cat and my parrot in heaven. They are such a wonderful company and they have learned to pray before eating. Speciall my lovely cat. She stops before her meal, goes outside to pray all alone before the Lord and then return and starts eating. It is such a blessing to see every day before any food given to her. My poodles also deserve to see Jesus. They are wonderful company to all of us and my parrot who speaks in strange language, I am sure, he is speaking to Jesus in tongues.

For the record, "I have a dog, have had several over the years, plus a few cats, so I am not an animal hater" However, I am not an animal worshiper either. While some people have become obsessed with dogs and cats, to the point of idolizing them, the Bible does not. This subject is one of contention with nonbelievers, which is understandable seeing that they do not know or understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, let me be clear , this comment is directed to professed Christians who have seriously entertained the question of whether a dog may or may not go to heaven when it dies. And, let's think about this for a minute. If this question had any merit at all it would provoke another question, "Do Dogs Go to HELL?" Surprisingly, it is rare to hear the latter question asked.

We are a people who have become experts at diverting our attention away from addressing issues that have the potential to send humans to hell. Since dogs don't have a soul and every mention of one in the Bible depicts them as 'soul-less' known for licking human blood, we should probably stop worrying about whether one is going to heaven. In fact, perhaps we should be more concerned with our salvation than a dog's. Dogs are wonderful, and should never be mistreated, but look, "dogs are mentioned in the Bible a only (24) times, and not one of those mentions place them in a HUMAN light?" The New Testament alone consists of over 184, 600 words , while the Old Testament boasts of 783,137 words. Again, only (24) words out of an entire Bible system only mention the word dog (24) times. Remember, we should not add or subtract from God's Word. That said, there are verses in the Bible that give us an indication of a dogs fate, "which is neither good or bad." Dog owners need not worry! See a few verses below. There are at least (20) more in the Bible.

"They washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria, and the dogs licked up his blood (now the harlots bathed themselves there), according to the word of the LORD which He spoke." 1 Kings 22: 38

2 Peter 2:22: “But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog [is] turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.” “For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.” Philippians 3:2: “Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.” Proverbs 26:11: “As a dog returneth to his vomit, [so] a fool returneth to his folly.” "Revelation 22:15

Philippians 3:2: “Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.”

Isaiah 56:10: “His watchmen [are] blind: they are all ignorant, they [are] all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.”

Brother, animals have only body and vitality but humans have body, vitality and soul. There is life to our souls after death, Jesus has proved by resurrection. I said in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN.AMEN.AMEN.

According to your wish, if the animals have souls, they rebel to the humans. God created all the animals in the Eden gardern. But Adam and Eve were thrown but not animals. The earthly animals are desperate and the he a Emily animals are seperate. The heavenly angels are seperate and the fallen angels are seperate. Heavenly God is desperate and earthly (Satan and its followers) God is seperate. On the Earth, we a have body but in the heaven we have only Soul. The creation will be recreated by the God after second coming of God because if the God wants to recreate us, our bodies will be destroyed and our souls (breath) will mingle in the God than He creates new creation for us.

Brother, insert seperate in the place of Desperate

The word 'soul' is used for animals much more than most of our English translations show.

The words used to describe animals are generally interpreted rather than literally translated in English Bibles.

For example, most translations use the word 'creature' instead of the literal word, which is 'soul'. Very few use the literal original Hebrew word which is 'soul'.

For example the Darby Bible gets it right using the exact same word for 'soul' used in Hebrew in other places:

Genesis 1: 20 And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarms of living souls, and let fowl fly above the earth in the expanse of the heavens.

21 And God created the great sea monsters, and every living soul that moves with which the waters swarm, after their kind, and every winged fowl after its kind. And God saw that it was good.

30 and to every animal of the earth, and to every fowl of the heavens, and to everything that creepeth on the earth, in which is a living soul, every green herb for food. And it was so.

2:19 And out of the ground Jehovah Elohim had formed every animal of the field and all fowl of the heavens, and brought [them] to Man, to see what he would call them; and whatever Man called each living soul, that was its name.

There may be other considerations, such as the soul versus the spirit.

But as far as the word 'soul' is concerned, it's actually used all over the place in the Bible to describe animals as well as people.

The final say with this issue, I believe ultimately belongs to God. Very few things are explicitly told to us about the afterlife in the Bible. Everything belongs to God.
