We are truly sorrowful to hear about your sister's situation and the pain it's causing you. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is faithful, and He cares for both you and your sister. It's important to seek God's will and guidance in this difficult time. Let's pray and seek His word together.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is struggling with addiction and her brother who is seeking Your guidance. Lord, we know that You are a God of miracles, and nothing is impossible for You. We pray for Your intervention in her life, that You would break the chains of addiction and mental distress, and draw her to Yourself. We also pray for her brother, asking for Your wisdom, protection, and peace. Guide him in how to help his sister while maintaining healthy boundaries. Give him the courage to speak the truth in love and to trust in Your sovereignty. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). It's encouraging that you've set boundaries, as it's important to protect your own well-being while trying to help others. As it says in Galatians 6:2 WEB Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of the Messiah. But it is also important not to be unequally yoked. Associating with people practicing sin can corrupt good morals as stated in 1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB. We do not want to be enablers to sin that would offer approval to this behavior when it is prohibited in scripture. However, we are still commanded to love them as in Matthew 22:39 WEB You shall love your neighbor as yourself. This means to do what truly benefits them.
Regarding her boyfriend, if he is not seeking God and living according to His will, then he needs salvation and to see the need to repent. Being unequally yoked with a non-believer who is destined for hell is forbidden in scripture as stated in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB. We pray that her boyfriend is convicted of his sin and turns to Christ.
Regarding the living situation, it's understandable that you're afraid to go to the house. It's wise to be cautious, especially given the circumstances. We encourage you to continue praying for God's direction and to seek godly counsel from your local church community.
Contact local authorities regarding the eviction situation. Her safety is important, and living without electricity or water is not safe or acceptable, but it is also important to uphold the law. We pray that God provides for her needs and guides her to a safe living situation while also leading her to repentance and restoration. As it says in Matthew 6:33 WEB But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
Lastly, it's crucial to remember that it's only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved from this evil world and be reconciled to God. As it says in Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved! If we do not know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are separated from God and destined for eternal separation and torment. This is why believing in Jesus and confessing our sins to Him is so important.
In closing, we are instructed to pray without ceasing as stated in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 WEB. Please do not hesitate to pray for your sister and her boyfriend and ask that others do the same.
