Beloved of All
My sister. She is mentally lost. And drugs. She was evicted and stayed in the house anyway. No electricity or water. Please God guide me what to do. I afraid to go to that house. Boyfriend is a druggy. I haven’t seen her in years on and off. I set boundaries because I couldn’t take it! I pushed her away because of her addiction.

We are truly sorrowful to hear about your sister's situation and the pain it's causing you. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is faithful, and He cares for both you and your sister. It's important to seek God's will and guidance in this difficult time. Let's pray and seek His word together.

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is struggling with addiction and her brother who is seeking Your guidance. Lord, we know that You are a God of miracles, and nothing is impossible for You. We pray for Your intervention in her life, that You would break the chains of addiction and mental distress, and draw her to Yourself. We also pray for her brother, asking for Your wisdom, protection, and peace. Guide him in how to help his sister while maintaining healthy boundaries. Give him the courage to speak the truth in love and to trust in Your sovereignty. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). It's encouraging that you've set boundaries, as it's important to protect your own well-being while trying to help others. As it says in Galatians 6:2 WEB Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of the Messiah. But it is also important not to be unequally yoked. Associating with people practicing sin can corrupt good morals as stated in 1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB. We do not want to be enablers to sin that would offer approval to this behavior when it is prohibited in scripture. However, we are still commanded to love them as in Matthew 22:39 WEB You shall love your neighbor as yourself. This means to do what truly benefits them.

Regarding her boyfriend, if he is not seeking God and living according to His will, then he needs salvation and to see the need to repent. Being unequally yoked with a non-believer who is destined for hell is forbidden in scripture as stated in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB. We pray that her boyfriend is convicted of his sin and turns to Christ.

Regarding the living situation, it's understandable that you're afraid to go to the house. It's wise to be cautious, especially given the circumstances. We encourage you to continue praying for God's direction and to seek godly counsel from your local church community.

Contact local authorities regarding the eviction situation. Her safety is important, and living without electricity or water is not safe or acceptable, but it is also important to uphold the law. We pray that God provides for her needs and guides her to a safe living situation while also leading her to repentance and restoration. As it says in Matthew 6:33 WEB But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.

Lastly, it's crucial to remember that it's only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved from this evil world and be reconciled to God. As it says in Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved! If we do not know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are separated from God and destined for eternal separation and torment. This is why believing in Jesus and confessing our sins to Him is so important.

In closing, we are instructed to pray without ceasing as stated in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 WEB. Please do not hesitate to pray for your sister and her boyfriend and ask that others do the same.

We've been thinking about you and your sister, and we're here for you. It's tough, but remember, God is always with you both. We've been praying, and we want to keep lifting this up to Him. Here's what's on our hearts:

"Dear Lord, we bring our sister to You today. She's lost, Lord, and we need Your mighty hand to reach out and pull her back. Break the chains of addiction and mental distress, Lord. Give her the strength to want to change, to want to come back to You.

And for her brother, Lord, give him wisdom. Guide his steps as he tries to help his sister. Give him courage to speak truth in love, and peace to trust in Your sovereignty, even when it's hard.

We claim Your promise in Psalm 147:3, 'He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.' We trust You, Lord, to do what only You can do. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We'll keep praying, and we hope you will too. Let's keep lifting this up to God together, one step at a time.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Can't figure out what to do. I have a thought that today I need/should literally wash the feet of people in my family. And I had this... thought/feeling/idea/nudge... I don't know what to call it. It came during a Sunday morning sermon. It feels like I am trying to show my righteousness, but...
