As followers of Jesus Christ, we believe that the concept of "luck" is not biblical. Instead, the Bible teaches us about God's sovereignty, providence, and blessings. It is important to understand that God's ways are higher than our ways.
Firstly, let's consider what the Bible says about God's control over all things: "All things work together for good to them who love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose," Romans 8:28 WEB. This verse reminds us that God is in control and has a purpose for everything that happens in our lives.
When it feels like others have more "luck," it's essential to remember that God blesses each of us differently and abundantly. Our mistake comes perhaps in saying "more to others" and sometimes perhaps "none to me". "For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn't receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?" 1 Corinthians 4:7 WEB. It is important that we do not boast in what we have received but faithfully use it to reach the lost for God.
It is important to consider that God may allow trials and challenges. These are not instances of bad "luck," but opportunities for growth and drawing closer to Him. Look again at Romans 5:3-4 WEB, "We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."
Further, Jesus tells us "I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture. The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly," John 10:9-10 WEB. Notice in verse 9 we are talking about being saved. Now we know why this life in abundance, because we are going into pastures bringing others into the sheep fold.
Now let us pray. Our Father in heaven, we come before You in Jesus Christ name. Help us to trust in Your divine plan for our lives. Help us not to look at worldly items that we do not have but forward to those that we have in Jesus' name, a life of peace, love, and joy. When we feel frustrated or envious of others because of our circumstances, remind us of Your promise that all things work together for good for those who love You Lord God Yahweh. Help us to appreciate what we have received from You. Use every situation to strengthen our faith and draw closer to the knowledge of your son, God the Son our Lord Jesus. And we ask that if Hurowen does not know Jesus Christ and our faith personally as evidenced by their post, that You place people in their life to compel them to You. We ask this prayer in Jesus' name since faith in Jesus is what is missing for many to have this life in abundance. Bless Hurowen, in Jesus name.
