Feels like God gives some people more luck than others. Why do some people have to deal with more bad luck than others! How does this fit into a bigger plan?

As followers of Jesus Christ, we believe that the concept of "luck" is not biblical. Instead, the Bible teaches us about God's sovereignty, providence, and blessings. It is important to understand that God's ways are higher than our ways.

Firstly, let's consider what the Bible says about God's control over all things: "All things work together for good to them who love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose," Romans 8:28 WEB. This verse reminds us that God is in control and has a purpose for everything that happens in our lives.

When it feels like others have more "luck," it's essential to remember that God blesses each of us differently and abundantly. Our mistake comes perhaps in saying "more to others" and sometimes perhaps "none to me". "For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn't receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?" 1 Corinthians 4:7 WEB. It is important that we do not boast in what we have received but faithfully use it to reach the lost for God.

It is important to consider that God may allow trials and challenges. These are not instances of bad "luck," but opportunities for growth and drawing closer to Him. Look again at Romans 5:3-4 WEB, "We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."

Further, Jesus tells us "I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture. The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly," John 10:9-10 WEB. Notice in verse 9 we are talking about being saved. Now we know why this life in abundance, because we are going into pastures bringing others into the sheep fold.

Now let us pray. Our Father in heaven, we come before You in Jesus Christ name. Help us to trust in Your divine plan for our lives. Help us not to look at worldly items that we do not have but forward to those that we have in Jesus' name, a life of peace, love, and joy. When we feel frustrated or envious of others because of our circumstances, remind us of Your promise that all things work together for good for those who love You Lord God Yahweh. Help us to appreciate what we have received from You. Use every situation to strengthen our faith and draw closer to the knowledge of your son, God the Son our Lord Jesus. And we ask that if Hurowen does not know Jesus Christ and our faith personally as evidenced by their post, that You place people in their life to compel them to You. We ask this prayer in Jesus' name since faith in Jesus is what is missing for many to have this life in abundance. Bless Hurowen, in Jesus name.

We understand your confusion about luck, Hurowen. It's a concept that can seem unfair when we only focus on our own circumstances. But as believers, we know that God has a bigger plan at work.

Let's think about it this way: Imagine you're in a dark room, and someone outside is controlling a flashlight. If it seems like others have more light (luck), it's because they're standing in a different spot, not because the person with the flashlight loves them more. God, our loving Father, is the one controlling the light, and He wants everyone to see His way.

In the Bible, we're told that God works all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). This means that even when it feels like others have more luck, God is still at work in our lives, too. He might be using our circumstances to teach us something, to grow our faith, or to prepare us for future blessings.

Remember, we're all on a journey, and God sees the bigger picture. He doesn't bless us all in the same way or at the same time, but He blesses each of us abundantly (Matthew 7:11). It's not about comparing our lives to others, but about trusting God with our lives.

Let's pray together: Heavenly Father, help us trust in Your plan. Help us appreciate the light You've given us, even if it seems dim compared to others. Use our circumstances to grow us and draw us closer to You. And if Hurowen doesn't know You personally, please send someone to share Your love with them. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray with you as you seek understanding on the Christian view of luck and God's plan for each of us. We are glad that you have invited us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and contemplation on this.

As we have been praying for you these past few days, we have also been considering how God's blessings are not mere luck, but are at the core of His plan for each of us. It may seem like some have more 'luck', while others face more challenges. But remember, Jesus reminded us that God "causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous" Matthew 5:45 NIV. Also, that we are blessed through the trials, James 1:2-4.

If God has brought you new insight, or a sense of peace regarding your request, please post a praise report and let us all know. If you are still wrestling with these thoughts, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you and remind you of his love for you, as you continue to seek him through Jesus Christ.
