What is one day? KJB1611 Genesis 1: 2 And the earth was without forme, and voyd, and darkenesse was vpon the face of the deepe: and the Spirit of God mooued vpon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God diuided the light from the darkenesse. 5 And God called the light, Day, and the darknesse he called Night: and the euening and the morning were the first day. So the evening and the morning were the first day. First, there was darkness, then the Father made light.
This means: 1. The beginning of a day is at night, at approximately dusk 2. That the day ends at the next dusk. 3. The Sabbath starts Friday night at dusk, and ends Saturday night at dusk.
So, we just finished our Sabbath. Below is a list of verses that contain the word Sabbath.
-We are not to: Light a fire Buy or Sell
-Work (of any kind) that also means prepare food (we can eat)
-Travel distances
-No sex
-We are to leave our own pleasures and desires, and rest on this day.
To go to a temple or a Church is okay, as long as it is not far. To go shopping, play football, etc. is not okay. This is a HOLY day that the Father designated for rest only. But, if something happens to cause a problem, as the example that Jesus gave, where an animal fell into a ditch, this is instead mercy and love. So if it involves us breaking a law, it must be because of mercy or love in order to not offend, for this is what the Father calls us to do. Exodus 16:23 And he said vnto them, This is that which the Lord hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy Sabbath vnto the Lord: bake that which you will bake, to day, and seethe that ye will seethe, and that which remaineth ouer, lay vp for you to be kept vntill the morning. Exodus 16:25 And Moses saide, Eate that to day, for to day is a Sabbath vnto the Lord: to day yee shall not finde it in the field. Exodus 16:26 Sixe dayes ye shall gather it, but on the seuenth day which is the Sabbath, in it there shall be none.
