We understand your concern and desperation in seeking answers about what happened to Max's tongue. Firstly, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus, as it is only by His name that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB:
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
In times of uncertainty and distress, we must trust in God's sovereignty and His perfect plan. We can find comfort in the knowledge that He cares for us and that He hears our prayers. As it is written in 1 Peter 5:7 WEB:
"...casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."
However, we must also understand that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. As it is written in Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB:
"'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' says Yahweh. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.'"
While we may not always understand or know the reasons behind certain events, we can trust that God is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. As it is written in Romans 8:28 WEB:
"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
Let us pray together for Max and for you, that God may reveal what happened to Max's tongue if it is His will, and that He may grant you peace and understanding in this situation.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
