Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up Steven Bobb and his concerns regarding the balance between having faith and not tempting You. Lord, we acknowledge that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind . We understand that faith is an essential aspect of our relationship with You, and we desire to walk in faith and trust in Your promises.
Father, we bring before You the practice of some Pentecostal churches in the southern U.S., where pastors handle poisonous snakes as a demonstration of their faith. While we acknowledge their zeal and passion for You, we seek Your wisdom and discernment in understanding if this practice is in alignment with Your will.
Lord, Your Word teaches us to test the spirits and to be wise in discerning what is from You . We ask that You grant discernment to those involved in this practice, that they may seek Your guidance and align their actions with Your Word. Help them to understand the difference between stepping out in faith and tempting You.
Father, we pray for the safety and protection of all those involved in these practices. We ask that You would guard them from harm and keep them in Your loving care. May Your Holy Spirit guide them into all truth and lead them in paths of righteousness.
In all things, Lord, we submit ourselves to Your will and trust in Your wisdom. Help us to walk in faith, not wavering or doubting, but also to exercise discernment and wisdom in all that we do. May Your name be glorified in our lives, and may we always seek to honor You.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
