Disciple of Prayer
I don't know what to do. I'm looking for a prayer that helps ease my anxiety and the feeling of letting her down knowing that we may or may not be able to talk for a while.
My girlfriend lied to her parents so we could hang out at the park today. We haven't seen each other since our Church Retreat 4 months ago. We miss one another, and she knew that if she asked her parents if she could hang out with me at the park this evening, they would say no without hesitation. I agreed that if she told her parents she was hanging out with one of her female friends it would be okay and nothing would happen. Knowing that we were going to be okay I drove down today so that we could enjoy some time outside together.
Her father was on his way back home from work and decided to stop by the park and check up on her. What he had known she was hanging out with her female best friend. When he arrived and saw me he was not mad, but confused at the time but didn't seem to be upset. We had a good conversation and it went well. He left and decided to go back home. About 10 minutes go by and her father and mother are both in the car, she heads over to the car and I can hear that her mother is not too happy with her but I can't tell what she is saying. Afterward, she texted me that her father wanted to talk with me. As a respectful and loving man, I accepted. He seemed a little more upset and disappointed now. We had another conversation about how this was disappointing and how she did not tell them the truth. He stated, "Going forward if you'd like to see my daughter or hang out with my daughter again you will make sure that we know what your plan is and agree with it." And yes this makes total sense, I completely agree.
The feeling of guilt is eating away at me and I feel like this is going to be our end. We are planning to go to the fair and go camping later within the month. I'm not too sure if this is going to happen now after today. Any suggestions on what I may be able to do going forward?
Thank you so much hopefully, that makes sense and if a prayer can be put together that would be relieving.
