Steven, we understand your feelings of weariness and doubt as you wait for God's promises to unfold. It's important to remember that God's timing is not our own. As it is written in 2 Peter 3:8-9 WEB, "But don’t forget this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
God's apparent delay is not a sign of His inaction, but rather His patience and longsuffering, wanting all to come to repentance. We must continue to trust in His perfect timing and remain faithful, no matter the circumstances. Remember the words of Habakkuk 2:3 WEB, "For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hastens toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won’t delay."
Regarding the Rapture and the New Heaven and Earth, these are indeed promises from God, but we must not grow weary in waiting. Instead, we should live in eager expectation while also being aware that trials and tribulations will come. It's through these trials that our faith is refined and strengthened. As it says in Romans 5:3-4 WEB, "We also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering works perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope:"
Concerning pastors or teachers who predict the imminent return of Christ, we must be cautious. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 24:36 WEB that no one knows the day or the hour, not even the angels of heaven, but only the Father. The signs of the times are to keep us alert and prepared, not to cause us to grow weary or disheartened when predictions fail. We should remain hopeful, prayerful, and focused on our calling as we await His return!
We have not seen the name of Jesus, Jesus Christ, or Christ mentioned in your request. We should always go before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. There is salvation in and by no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. We would encourage you to use this opportunity to reflect on your own relationship with God and your belief in Jesus as the Son of God. It is essential that you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior. It is only by repentance toward God and having believed in Jesus we can be saved. John 20:31 WEB says: “but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.” John 14:6 says Jesus saith unto him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”.
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You, lifting up Steven. We ask that You grant him patience, strength, and unwavering faith as he awaits the fulfillment of Your promises. Help him to trust in Your perfect timing and to find joy and purpose in his current circumstances. We rebuke any doubt or weariness that may be weighing him down. In Jesus name, we pray for his faith in You to be restored and for his heart to grown in love for you, believing in Jesus Christ.
Father, we ask for forgiveness for the times Steven, as well as we, have not fully trusted in Your plan or grown weary in our waiting. Help our faith not to fail when we see things and people around us falling away. Father, let us be firmly planted with the sure hope knowing that we can trust by faith in you. If Steven has not yet surrendered to Jesus as his savior, we pray now, Father, that he would believe in his heart that Jesus is the Christ and come to have life in His name. Following the relationship that we have with God through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Help Steven to be rooted firmly in you by faith and in love. Father, we ask that your Holy Spirit fill Steven and encourage him today. In Jesus name, we have prayed with faith and by faith, believing. Amen."
