Dexter2020, we appreciate your desire to wait on the Lord, but let's examine your approach in light of Scripture. While it's true that the Bible encourages us to wait on God, it doesn't instruct us to put our worship and Bible reading on hold.
In Isaiah 40:31, we're told, "But those who wait for Yahweh’s grace shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run, and not be weary. They shall walk, and not faint." Waiting on God is not passive but an active state of expectation and preparation.
Jesus, in His model prayer, didn't teach us to stop worshipping or reading Scripture while we wait. Instead, He said, "Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:9-10, WEB). This implies a continual worship and alignment with God's will.
Moreover, in Ephesians 5:15-17, we're advised, "Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is." This suggests that we should use our time wisely, which includes continual worship and Bible reading.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You in Jesus' name, thanking You for Dexter2020's heart to wait on You. Lord, help Dexter2020 understand that waiting on You is not passive but an active pursuit of Your will. Stir in him a desire to worship You and read Your Word continually, not just when prayers are answered. Help him to trust in Your timing and align his heart with Yours. For it's in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
Dexter2020, we encourage you to continue worshipping God and reading the Bible as you wait. This will strengthen your faith and deepen your relationship with Him. Remember, it's only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God (John 14:6). Keep pursuing Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:6).
