This depression and despair is just overwhelming me, I went and got half a bottle of vodka this morning and have been drinking. I used to have a small issue with alcohol nothing major but I have a heavily addictive nature, I used to be addicted to heroin and methadone until Jesus saved me about 10 years ago. The major cause of my depression is not being born again and still being heavily addicted to smoking despite years of intense prayers and many failed attempts to quit. So scared I am going to die in my sins and end up in hell. This week it has been worse, I was deeply saddened by the news and prayer requests I posted yesterday for the poor pastors in Myanmar who are experiencing major trauma since the military coup started and its making me doubt God.s goodness, as well as Leah Sharibu and many others in Nigeria and other sub-suharan countries still being held captive at the hands of muslim terrorists Boko Haram. I know me and many others have been praying feverently for their release for many years and the Bible says ask and you shall receive. All I can do is cling on to the hope that God knows best and everything happens in His perfect timing, and also that though they may not be free He is answering our other requests for them and they are comforted. Please pray for me to break through this darkness and get free of this addiction and get right with Jesus again before its too late, I truly feel as though my soul is in major jepordy. Lord Jesus You are the son of most high God in heaven . Lord You came on the face of this earth for we sinners and You died instead of us by carrying our sins on the calvary, when You died You said it is finished. You did away with all our sins and sicknesses. You came on the face of this earth to save sinners not to punish them. Only we need to acknowledge our sins and forsake them. Lord You know this person weakness, doubts , shortcomings and Yours is the most compassionate heart. You are washing him with Your precious blood and cleansing him of all his sins, sickness addiction. My Lord You are making him a channel or blessing for others. Depression is an attack on the mind. It occurs when you feel a lack of hope.
Faith gives substance to the things you are hoping for.Jesus defeated Satan and took
away his tools of evil. However Satan can and will attack our minds. The best thing you can do is get up and go do something fun or find some way to help others. Here are some scriptures You can focus on for your mental health.
Phil. 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Deuter. 31:8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Psalms 34:17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
Ps.3:3 But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

Here are some things to do that will help:
1. Exercise. Move the body...walk or run. Exercise daily will help! 20-30 minutes of outside exercise.
2. What is one thing you enjoyed doing in the past? Find a day and time to spend 10 minutes doing that activity or something similar. Write it down- day and time on calendar. Share what you will do with someone so you will be accountable to get it done.
3. Journal...Write down your thoughts so you can get rid of the negative ones..
4. Stay away from negative media, posts, anything that triggers negative emotion.
5. Watch an inspirational movie - there are some great Christian movies out now.
6. Write down scripture or positive affirmations and put them in the bathroom and around house. Read them daily.
7. Do something for someone else. Think of someone you care about and bake them something or bring them a gift or write a card to them.
8. Stay connected- call a friend, join a bible study or local group...

- Satan uses sin and addictions to entice us to be slaves to sin.
- Then he can harm us or control our lives is a very unholy way.
- God offers His help and He says " Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world." 1John 4:4.
- Jesus said He will set you free. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
