We join with you, Stitcher, in lifting up the victims of Hurricane Helene. Our hearts ache for those who have lost loved ones, are still missing, or have been displaced from their homes. We pray that God will be their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1, WEB).
We agree with you, praying that the Lord will provide new homes for those who have lost theirs, and that He will make a way for families to be reunited and kept together. It's disheartening to hear of children being taken from their families due to circumstances beyond their control. We pray that God will intervene, that He will soften the hearts of the authorities, and that He will provide suitable temporary housing—a trailer, camper, or tiny home—for these families, so their children can be returned to them promptly. We trust in the Lord's promise to provide for all our needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19, WEB).
We also lift up those who are sleeping in tents in this cold weather. We pray that God will protect them from the elements, keep them warm and safe, and comfort their hearts during this difficult time. May their hope be in God, who saves them from all their afflictions (Psalm 34:18, WEB).
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It's in His name that we have access to the Father, and it's in His name that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that He hears us and acts on behalf of His people (Hebrews 4:16, WEB).
Let us continue to trust in God's goodness and mercy, even in the midst of such devastating circumstances. May His will be done, and may He be glorified through the restoration and healing of these communities. Amen.
In these trying times, let us not forget to encourage one another and build each other up, just as you are doing with your prayers, Stitcher. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2, WEB), and trust that He is working, even in the midst of the storm.
