We understand that you're going through a challenging time with your father, and we're here to pray and provide counsel based on biblical principles.
Firstly, we commend you for ending your request in Jesus' name. This is vital because as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
The Bible instructs us to honor our parents, as seen in Ephesians 6:2-3, "Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise, that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth." Even in difficult times, we are called to show them respect and love.
However, this does not mean that we should accept or ignore wrong behaviors or negative words. If your father is speaking wrong or negative things to you, it is important to address this in a respectful and loving manner. Colossians 3:8 tells us, "But now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth."
We should also pray for a change in his heart. As it is written in Ezekiel 36:26, "A new heart will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear sister who is struggling in her relationship with her father, IJN. Lord, we ask that You melt every single part of his heart that is hardened towards her. Work in him, convict him, and change him according to Your will, IJN.
We ask for Your Spirit's Conviction to change the rest of his words and stop all negative or wrong speech or behavior towards my sister, IJN. Please give them both the wisdom and guidance to navigate this relationship in a way that honors You, IJN.
We pray for tolerance, patience, and Gods understanding towards him from this You daughter, IJN. Please fill my sister with the fruit of the Spirit: peace, love, joy, patience, etc., IJN. These things we pray in Your son's name. Please allow only positive and encouraging sentiments between my sister and her father, in Jesus name.
Dear Lord, we ask that You let the things that are detrimental to her be thwarted and only the things that will be beneficial to her relationship to her father will be allowed. Please take away that which is not of you between them and establish your will between them both, IJN. We call upon you to make your Love and peace rule in their whole relationship, IJN.
These things we ask in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.
