We understand your urgency and desperation but we need to address something first. Idolatry, fear, and bondage can indeed be broken in the name of Jesus Christ, and we will pray for that. However, we need to clarify that while we want your spouse to hunger for God, it cannot be forced directly by us since this is the leading of the Holy Spirit. God grants each person free will, and He wants us all to come to Him freely and willingly. Regarding your marriage, we lift it up and want the Lord to make your relationship new, complete, and sound since your spouse is already your husband.
Let's remember what Ephesians 5 says about love and marriage:
Ephesians 5:22+ Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly; because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones. For this cause will a man leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh. This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
In the book of Hosea, the husband was asked to go and love his wife. Let us pray that your husband sees Christ in us and then yields his heart to God. We ask these things through your prayer to have a godly marriage according to biblical principles.
Let's pray together:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this marriage and the needs expressed. Lord, we ask that You break every chain of idolatry, fear, and bondage in Your mighty name. We pray for spiritual freedom and victory for their husband. We ask that You draw him to Yourself through the continuous prayer of his wife, his marriage, and his walk should be totally led by the leading of God through the Holy Spirit. We pray for a united Christian marriage, strengthened and restored through Christ alone. We believe these things can be accomplished through the mighty name of Jesus. We pray for the salvation of their families and ask for complete deliverance of their household unto Jesus Christ.
Let us continue to pray and fast on behalf of this marriage as a positive response is needed. Let us know the results of these prayers in the months to come and if there are issues that need attention.
