We understand your desire for a successful surgery outcome and improved physical appearance. However we want to encourage you to focus not solely on external beauty, but also on the inner beauty of the heart.
In the Wise King Lemuel's collection of divine oracles he quotes his mother, “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised" Proverbs 31:30 WEB 1611).
True beauty comes from a heart that fears the Lord and lives in obedience to Him, Michelangelo’s Moses hold‘s God's commandment #7, ‘Thou shalt not commit adultery,’ condeming him to not enter the promised land because of not controlling his anger, in some views lust is a related subject area.
However, we understand your concern. Before asking God for physical beauty or successful surgeries as an urgent very important request. We encourage you to seek the Lord and His kingdom first, righteousness first. As recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33 WEB. We rejoice you prayed in Jesus Christ's name.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in an amazing name of Jesus' name, lifting up this person who is preparing for surgery. We pray for Your healing touch, that Your will be done, and that You provide a window for their deepest spiritual desires. For You came to save us, teach us, and not to entertain us with our every whim or desire, this includes our personal projects--anything that we have dreamed up with a hope. Instead we hope that Thou shalt see our heart and cause it to be obedient with Thee, so also be our every hope and desire. Bless this person in Jesus' name. Guide the surgeons' hands, and grant a speedy recovery, minimal swelling, and no complications.
However, we also pray that You help to see beauty from Your perspective that we are made in Your image and not draw our worthiness, happiness, and pursuits of desire from this world ephemeral based based values system.
May this person trust You knowing that part of our journey is channeling our desires and give utmost deference to spirit life and not a worldy flesh life. We pray their faith, joy, compassion, and love would grow by gifts of the Holy Spirit received. We ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
