Let us all humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord and seek His wisdom for this request.
How we thank and praise God that this prayer is being brought before Him In the name of the Lord Jesus! It is only by His name that we have access to God the Father and a place of founded hope for our requests.
Marriage is honorable and undefiled according to Hebrews 13:4 WEB and we can prayerfully agree that there is a desire for a blessed and God-honoring relationship in this request. We can pray for His guidance Im sure that is true. But we must be vigilant though to see any influence of the sinful nature in these requests rather than of the Holy Spirit.
Heavenly Father, We fervently seek Your wisdom first. May You shine your light through the Holy Spirit into every aspect of this prayer. Help us to see any idol or impure motives. Let us understand Your Heart better. May Your Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven.
This is a very emotional, impassioned, and heartfelt prayer. It is very easy to focus on the emotions and intentions expressed and get drawn into thinking this must be the Holy Spirit, because the emotions and intentions are so strong.
The WEB says in Matt 7:21 that not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Sin takes truth to create ever more complicated deceptions. It can use even unwittingly Gods people to do it. Sin twists good emotions to evil purposes. In order to expose this we must look at the core. What is the request actually asking God to do when stripped down? What result are the words and requests actually having?
We affirm that this prayer is asking God to bind these two people. But it also asks God to force unwanted manipulated feelings and to have one of them to even sing a particular song in an unwanted unnatural manipulated fashion.
We respectfully rebuke that part of this prayer request. That is not how the Lord operates. It is true that Jesus does things in our lives. He works on our hearts and in our hearts. He is the potter and we are the clay. He molds and shapes us but he never goes against our will.
Anything though that God does in someones life is an act of grace. It does not have to be earned. Certainly He will do things to bring us to Him. That is because that is what a loving God does for the ones He loves. Once we have been brought near and looked at to receive a relationship with Him. He will never force us into something even if it for our 'own good.' We have to give ourselves to Him. That is the act of service, the commitment of obedience of what we know He has asked of His people, the Romans 12:1 WEB living sacrifice. That is the reasonable service, but a living sacrifice which is holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. We have to look at what is being asked of the Creator to do to the hearts of His creation, to God's people.
Within the will of the people mentioned the Holy Spirit may bring them together if it is within God's will but here we ask is manipulation being requested? Let us if so beg Gods forgiveness for even imaging that He would do anything against the will of one of his people. The Lord does not manipulate, dominate, or force His will on us. Relationships should be sought with honor and consent of the will of both. Any idea of a romantic relationship growing in any way apart from that is not pure before God. Neither should it be asked to be manipulatively achieved.
Our loving, caring Counselor is the great I AM and we strive to please Him in all that we do. In looking at the God that we do know from the scriptures we know that God does answer our prayers and in that we trust. In Eph 3:7 WEB Paul says that he became a servant according to the gift of that working of power which God gave him. He certainly was aware of what that power was. He described it in the before verses. The mystery of Christ is made know in verse 5. That mystery is explained in vs 6 which is the gentiles should be fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the Good News. If you still wonder what this looks like in Pauls life look no further than 1 Cor 9:22
which says I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some. This is not to implore us to change to impress others to like us or in selfishness or something for that purpose. but the purpose that Paul is speaking of us changing to win some is pulling them unto to Christ with the Good news and in impressing the world what serving God looks like. Certainly His will towards our relationships is to align them to His will and purposes. Becoming the spouse that you wish is just another way to work on yourself and more importantly to perfect the areas of your life the Lord is speaking for you to change. He still has given us a free will to love and live as we choose. If we seek for the Lord to intervene then we must seek for ourselves to change. Sin continually seek to hinder those desires if your goal is the Church and God's plan through your marriage than seek Him and your day of change may be at hand.
Is the Lord calling us to give our hearts to Him and seek him to fill up all areas in our own heart. Possibly you feel incomplete because their is no love in a relationship with God. A broken person will never find true fulfillment in a broken person. We were not made for that. Everything in the world is vain and temporary but the only reliable source of unspeakable joy is our everlasting Lord. We are made for Him and He has made us for Him.
Let us Pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up these hearts today. God we ask for the Holy Spirit to increased and renewed faith in Jesus in both parties in this relationship request.
May the Living Word continue to work in both hearts creating a clean heart, renew a right spirit within and overflowing the joy of salvation onto the lives
We pray that You continue to bring them near to even the very mouth of Your throne that they may draw near and drink from living waters that flow from Your throne room. May they continue to seek You for all that they are doing. For in so much so this prayer to be answered according to Your will. If they are to be not be made for each other may the Holy Spirit guide them in Your will and we pray for healing and trust in that Your will will be done in both lives. Help them to continue to grow in fellowship with You and and to never cease seeking Your face. May Your will be done not ours. Thank You for Your unfailing and immeasurable love.
In Jesus' name
Write to the angel of the assembly in Laodicea:
The one to the massages of the seven spirit of God, and the seven stars says this:
I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth. Because you say, I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing" and don't know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked; I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see. As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous, therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit down with me in my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies
Sometimes the most blessed thing is to deny a prayer so that God's will be done. May we ever seek the latter in our relationship requests.
