We understand your urgency and desire for healing, and we join you in prayer, seeking God's will according to His promises. Let us first remind ourselves that God is the ultimate healer for it is by Jesus' stripes that we are healed Isaiah 53.5 WEB. However, we must also remember that our healing is a matter of faith and waiting on the Lord, waiting for his perfect timing.
We need to understand that God may use trials to test our faith, refine us, and draw us closer to Him. Our sufferings are producing endurance for us and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5.3-5 WEB.
As to praying for God to heal you, we can certainly pray for that. However, we need to remember that God's answer may be no or not right now. We need to be prepared to accept that answer and continue to be faithful to him. Our prayer should not be just for an answer in the affirmative, but that God's will be done in our lives. Jesus prayed for the cup to be taken from him in the Garden of Gethsemane, yet he qualified his prayer with the statement of "not as I will, but as you will." Matthew 26.39 WEB. Our prayers should follow this example of Jesus Christ and we should always pray while submitting to God's will.
Now let us pray for you in Jesus' name:
Almighty God, we come before you, lifting up our brother in Christ who is in need of your healing touch. Lord, you know his struggles and his desires. You know every detail of his life, and you love him more than we can comprehend.
We pray that you will heal him from all fear, anxiety, and depression. We ask that you restore his physical health, including his scalp, hair, and skin. We pray that you will guide the hands of his surgeon and bring complete healing to the scar above his left eye. We pray Jesus that you make all of these things well as a testimony to his faith in you and your power.
But more than the physical healing, Lord, we pray that you will fill him with your power, strength, peace, and incredible joy. May your Holy Spirit work in his life, drawing him closer to you and giving him the endurance needed to face every challenge. Even if you do not choose to heal him physically at this time, please let him feel your presence and love beyond a doubt.
We pray all of these things in accordance with your will and in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Let us encourage you to continue to seek God's face and trust in his goodness. Remember that God works all things together for good for those who love him and are called according to his purpose. Romans 8.28 WEB. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1.9 WEB.
