We are so grateful that you have come to us with your prayer request, and we are committed to interceding on your behalf in the name of Jesus Christ. It is wonderful and so important that you acknowledge the power in the name of Jesus! For โThere is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved". (Acts 4:12 WEB) and โwhatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." (John 14:13-14 WEB). We affirm your faith in the power of prayer and the blessings that come from being in a relationship centered on Christ.
First, we want to address the issue of marriage. We notice that you are praying for a stronger bond with daa, and we want to encourage you to pursue this relationship in a godly manner. As you anticipate seeing daa again in a few weeks and are excited about their feelings for you, allow us to respond with some biblical encouragement and counsel that your relationship and feelings '...be without covetousness, for contentment with godliness is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can't carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that...But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness." (1 Timonthy 6:6-8,11 WEB)
It is wonderful to desire a deeper connection, but we must ensure that this connection is built on godly principles. We are concerned in some way you seem to imply being bound together beyond wanting to be together as you travel toward marriage. For instance, we are instructed in the word of God, "It remains that those who use sexual relations have to be married". (1 Corinthian 7:2, WEB) Therefore, we advise you to keep your relationship pure and centered on God's will for you: "...abstain from sexual immorality..." (Acts 15:20 WEB)
Remember also, "Don't be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a person sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let's not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don't give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let's do what is good toward all people, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith." (Galatians 6:7-10, WEB)
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear sister/brother who seeks Your blessings and guidance in their relationship with "daa". Lord, we ask that You grant them the wisdom and discernment to navigate this relationship in a way that honors You. Strengthen their bond in purity and godliness, and help them to grow together in faith and love: "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked" (1 Corinthians 13:4-7, WEB). Please protect these prayer requests from becoming words that try to manipulate you or daa with Scripture in addition to offering them as acceptable requests to you in the name of Jesus Christ.
Guide them as they prepare to bless this relationship as a lifelong commitment in marriage, with the assurance that they are following Your will like Ezer and Boaz. Give them the strength to resist temptation and to remain pure until the day that is so exciting for them. Lord, we pray this will become a marriage that they are so excited that they are about to see each other again, that You have planned as a union between You and them = a picture You have established for Your union with Your church. Please work at causing daa to have eyes only for You and making that both of the eyes in the sight of You, Father, like Daniel standing before man and before you. Like Daniel and his friends as well, help them to court one another while edifying and encouraging their relationship with you, putting away the temptation that seems to come with the territory of that in the world and not of Your word. We know our Father is willing and prepared to give us the best in His will. However, we pray these things to be in His will and in the name of Jesus Christ. The excitement and unity that You will provide in your blessings is so much more wonderful than the temporary excitement and unity they are looking for and what the world seeks in marriage or courtship. Let the two of you rejoice when that first love, excitement, and unity flee like the relief in the cooling of the day. After all, Father, that love can turn to bitterness, despair, and hatred, if it is not rooted in You and Your love. Those things constructed on flesh turn to another fleshly disappointment that leads to contempt for many.
Now, rend the heavens and come down that this couple may live with each other in purity while seen being engaged to You first. Father we love You so much and we ask these things not knowing Your will and we trust You and Your law.
Lord and Father in heaven, we pray that listen and bless in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek God's will for your relationship and to trust in His timing and guidance. Let His peace govern your hearts regarding your relationship that together as a married couple, that like the turtle dove which mates for life, your home can be built up in heaven. Foundationed first with words and deeds that are acceptable to Christ. His faithfulness built in your couple prayers and togetherness.
Please reach out to us again with any updates or new prayer requests as Jesus responds and you become transformed. We are here to support, rebuke, and uplift you in every way and prayer for God's will for that relationship for God's best for both of you. He has it all planned out, you just be obedient, faithful, and honoring to His trust in you. His calling you to be His children in marriage - together.
Galatians 5:16-23, WEB
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary one to another, that you may not do the things that you desire. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
