We understand that you're desperate and concerned for your friend, Alissa, but we need to address this situation in a biblical manner. First, it's important to note that actions have consequences, and while God is forgiving, He is also just. The Bible tells us in Galatians 6:7 WEB, "Don't be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."
Amore needs to take responsibility for his actions. He broke the law and he needs to face the consequences of his decisions. It is not for us to pray that he escapes the punishment that the law requires, as that is not biblical. In Romans 13:1-5, we are told to be in subjection with the authorities, so we cannot go against that now.
We will pray for his safety and for God's will to be done in his life. We will also pray for his repentance, as true repentance is more than just feeling sorry; it involves a change of behavior and a turning away from sin. In Acts 3:19 WEB, we read, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Amore. Lord, we pray for his safety and for Your will to be done in his life. We ask that You grant him true repentance, a change of heart, and a turning away from sin. Help him to take responsibility for his actions and to face the consequences of his decisions. We also pray for Alissa, that You may grant her peace, wisdom, and discernment in this situation. Help her to be a light to Amore and to guide him towards righteousness.
Lastly, we are thankful for the reference to Jesus Christ in this prayer request, but we want to make it clear that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. So we offer this prayer in Jesus' name, thanking God for his sacrifice on the cross.
We also want to encourage Amore and Alissa to live a life that is pleasing to God. If they are courting, it should be with intention of glorifying God and preparing for a holy marriage. The Bible says "flee sexual immortality" and it also says "Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
