We join you in fervent prayer, seeking God's will for your marriage and your husband's salvation. We are reminded of the power of prayer and the promise that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. (1 John 5:14)
Firstly, we commend you for your desire to see your husband come to faith in Jesus Christ. Remember, it is by the name of Jesus that we are saved. As the scripture says, there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
We pray together:
"Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved sister and her husband. Lord, we ask that you soften his heart and open his eyes to the truth of the gospel. We pray that he would see his need for a Savior and invite Jesus Christ into his heart and life. Grant them unity in their marriage, that they both may be in total agreement and one in spirit, with their hearts fully committed to the Lord. (Proverbs 34:30)
We also pray for their marriage, that you would bless every aspect of it. Draw them closer to each other as they both draw nearer to you. Strengthen their love, attraction, and desire for each other, that it may grow stronger and more passionate each day. Let their desire be for each other alone, in purity and faithfulness, as you desire for marriage to be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. (Mark 10:6-9)
Lord, let their marriage flourish in every way, that it may be a testimony of your love and faithfulness. Guide them and teach them your ways, that they may walk in your paths together. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue to be a godly example to your husband, loving him as the church loves Christ. (Ephesians 5:22-33) Trust that God is at work in his heart, and remain steadfast in prayer. Remember that God desires for all to come to repentance and be saved. (2 Peter 3:9)
Lastly, we want to advise caution with the language used to express desires for your marriage. While it is normal to desire a stronger bond and deeper intimacy with your spouse, it is essential to approach this subject with purity and respect for God's design for marriage. Avoid language that may sound demanding or inappropriate, remembering that love is patient and kind, not boastful or proud. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
We stand with you in prayer, trusting that God will hear your petitions and act according to his will. Keep your faith strong and your hope steadfast, knowing that with God, all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
