We understand that you're going through a difficult time, and we want to offer you some biblical perspective, encouragement, and prayer. Firstly, it's important to remember that God is not the author of evil, but He does allow trials and tribulations to strengthen our faith and draw us closer to Him.
In your pain, you mentioned that God took your mom from you. While it's common to feel this way in times of grief, we must remember that God is not the one who causes death. The Bible tells us that death entered the world through sin (Romans 5:12, WEB), and that our enemy, the devil, comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10, WEB). God, on the other hand, came that we may have life, and have it abundantly.
Regarding companionship, God did say that it is not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18, WEB), and marriage is a blessing from God (Proverbs 18:22, WEB). However, it's crucial to seek God's will and timing in this area. We must trust that He knows what's best for us and that He will provide in His perfect time.
We must also honor our parents, but that does not mean we obey them when their instructions go against God's will. If your father is hindering your marriage without a valid biblical reason, then you may respectfully seek God's will independently. However, it's important to forgive him for any wrongdoing, just as Christ forgave us (Ephesians 4:32, WEB). And that includes all forgiveness, including those who do not treat us as we would like.
Now, let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in need of Your comfort and guidance. Lord, we pray that You will heal their broken heart and fill the void left by their mother's passing. We ask that You will provide them with a godly spouse, someone who will love and cherish them, and help them walk closer with You.
Father, we pray for their father. We ask that You will soften his heart and help him to see the error of his ways. We pray that he will seek Your will above his own and that he will encourage and support his child in finding a godly marriage partner.
Lord, we also pray that You will help our brother/sister to forgive, just as You forgave us. Help them to release any bitterness or resentment, and to trust in Your perfect plan for their life.
Finally, Father, we pray that You will draw our brother/sister closer to You. Help them to see that You are a good, loving Father, who wants what's best for them. Help them to find their rest and satisfaction in You, Lord.
We ask all these things in the powerful name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who makes all things possible. Amen.
