We are truly saddened to hear about Maryah's struggle with vaping addiction at such a young age. Let us first address this issue in prayer.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your intervention in Maryah's life. Lord, You tell us that if we call to You you will answer us out of the great things You would do for us. (Jeremiah 33:3 WEB). You know the struggle that Maryah is facing with vape addiction and our hearts are heavy for her and her wellbeing. We pray that You would deliver her from this bondage.
Lord God, we know Maryah is Your creation and You desire for her to live in the freedom of Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit we know Your will is to convict and increase Godly sorrow leading to repentance, and to provide guidance to her and her family We pray that You would give Maryah the strength to overcome this addiction. “No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. We believe You , O God God will provide a way out for Maryah, please give her discernment to recognize the escape you give her and the willingness to take it. . (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).”,(2 Corinthians 7:9-12).
We also pray for her family, that You would give them wisdom and guidance on how to support Maryah during this challenging time. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.”. (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). Surround them with Your peace, and let Your light shine through this darkness. We first and foremost pray that Maryah will call on You, Jesus Christ, in belief and repentance from all known sin, becoming born again as a daughter of God. May she trust and serve you for all of eternity. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”.(1 John 1:9 WEB). We pray that the blood of Jesus Christ covers and protects Maryah as she seeks to free herself from the chains of this addiction.
As we pray for Maryah we cannot forger the we are to confess our sins one to another that she may overcome as we learn in the biblical text “Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.”. (James 5:16 WEB). It is a command from God to do this in faith. We believe that Maryah can be healed from this addiction through prayer, and in the process, draw closer to You, Lord, and allow You to become the desire in her heart.
We pray that Maryah's family will not accept status quo of our culture as acceptable for a Christian Believer because of they love for Maryah and their desire for her to mature in the fruits of the spirit. “Don’t be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,”(Ephesians 5:18). Though this was addressed to drunkenness the alcohol days but is clearly applicable to any intoxicating substance that may control a person and keep her from being under control of the Holy Spirit. We pray that Maryah may learn to reject selfish, focused desires and submit gain a desire to live fully and abundantly in the Spirit of God by seeking the Fruits of the Spirit. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.” But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. (Galatians 5:18-24 WEB)
Thewfirulth, we encourage you to support Maryah with Godly conversation, loving discipline, and affection. Do not avoid the subject of Maryah's addiction when you pray alone but continually bring her to God's throne in prayer. Speak to her with Godly love, correcting her in faith, and lovingly striving for her to walk in holiness.
Avoid harsh judgements that may not come from faith and appear hypocritical or unloving as we are all susceptible to sin and must always return to God for forgiveness. Strive to help Maryah to faithfully turn from her sins and become washed in the blood of Jesus Christ. Be honest with Maryah and lovingly tell her when you notice she allows her temptations to entice her and encourage her to be fully honest with you and herself. Learning to identify the temptations and sin is the first step in heeling from them and growing in your relationship with Jesus Christ.
We believe praying the word of God will strengthen all of those who are joining in faith to overcome this addiction. We pray that these passages were encouraging to you and to Maryah.
