We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles Chloe is facing, and we are here to intercede and provide guidance based on the Word of God.
Firstly, it is important to acknowledge that Chloe is in a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship and not looking at this relationship as courtship with a Christian Believer as its foundation and the goal being marriage. As a couple they are facing intoxication and possibly who is to blame rather than following the teaching of Ephesians 5:18, Do not be drunken with wine, for that is reckless living. But be filled with the Spirit.
Additionally, we must address that drinking is not the root problem. The root problem is turning away from God and as a result turning to wine and spirits as described in Deuteronomy 29:18 so that there will not be among you man, woman, family, or tribe whose heart turns away today from Yahweh our God. Leading to being having a root that produces bitter poison.' If Chloe is turning back to God, she will no longer be drinking. As it states in 1 Corinthians 6:12, All things are lawful for me, but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of anything. If it were not for evil influences, such as friends and possibly her boyfriend introduce into her life, she would already be following the teachings of Romans 12:2, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
The Bible makes it clear in 2 Corinthians 6:14, 14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness? It is important to enter a relationship on the right terms and for the right reason.
These relationships should be guided and counseled by the church where believers meet together, pray and consult with elders. Elders can attempt to address the situation and prevent someone from being mislead by immature Christian or an unbeliever. Such a relationship can be deceptive to the couples themselves, and may be a relationship that ultimately leads to sin if they are not equally yoked. We are called to believe in a righteous manner and to be not conformed to this world. Such a believer is not trying to avoid the world or to run away from sin, but is seeking to be a godly influence by acting properly and remaining above reproach. It is a natural result of sin that the Word of God is ignored and the desires of the flesh becomes a stumbling block since we must
Lastly, Chloe needs to know that it is only by the name of Jesus Christ we have access to God, and by which we can be saved. This can be explained by quoting Acts 4:10-12 be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even in him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner. 12 And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved. This is the foundation of the relationship between us and God, and this is why we pray in Jesus' name. Through this relationship, Chloe can receive not only freedom from addiction but wisdom, guidance, and the ability to make righteous decisions in life. She can then avoid confusion and receive protection from God.
Let us come together in Jesus' name and pray for Chloe
Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up Chloe to You, asking for Your grace and mercy to intervene in her life. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of addiction, alcoholism, and confusion that has taken hold of her. We bind it up in her life and cast it out of her in the name of Jesus Christ. Father, we ask You to give Chloe a heart of repentance, turning her back to You for forgiveness of her sins and receiving the a new life of salvation. Lord, surround her with godly friends and influences, including a godly spouse if it is Your will, and protect her from wrong company.
Father, we also lift up Evan. If Evan does not know you or is a worldly influence. We pray that Chloe will repent, flee and have nothing to do with him. If he is to be saved, we pray that Chloe can live a pure and godly life and that she is equally yoked and has a courtship with a Christian Believer as its foundation, the goal being marriage. Otherwise, we pray in Jesus' name, that she will have flee and have nothing to do with any wrongdoing behavior. We pray that she can find a Christian spouse and be married in a way that honors God.
Grant her the wisdom and discernment to make godly decisions and lead her in the paths of righteousness for Your name's sake. Protect her life, Lord, and keep her from all harm and danger. We believe with You all things are possible. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
