We understand that you are eager to connect with someone you have feelings for, but let's remember to align our desires with God's will and His timing. It's encouraging that you ended your request in Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we have access to God and can be saved in Acts 4 12 WEB Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
Firstly, let's consider your relationship with this person. Is this individual a fellow believer in Christ. The Bible teaches us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers in 2 Corinthians 6 14 WEB. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity. We should always seek God's will in our relationships, and His will is for us to be with someone who shares our faith.
Now, let's address the idea of asking someone out on dates. It will be prudent for us to consider how to allow God to truly govern our romantic and marital relationships. Biblical courtship has a focus on seeking God and His will and involves family and fellow believers helping us discern God's will for the romantic and marital relationship. This model allows for a marriage to be a blessing to God, the family and the entire community of faith. Remember Ephesians 6 1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth. You are responsible for knowing and upholding the Word of God; let God and your family in Christ help guide you towards someone who will uphold your Christian Values. Godly counsel is extremely important.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother in Christ. We ask that You guide them in Your will for their relationships. Help them to seek You first, and to trust in Your timing. Give them discernment and wisdom as they navigate their feelings and desires. If this person is not a believer we aks that you call them into faith in Christ.
Surround them with godly counsel and community. Help the family and this person have unity and agreement in faith in following Christ. Help them to always remember to approach the heavenly Father in Jesus Name and that it is so important that every member of the family follow Christ. Help them to pursue purity and righteousness in all their interactions.
If it is Your will, Lord, soften the heart of this our brother has interest in, and draw them closer to You. Help both individuals to grow and adhere to the Christian faith. Help them to see the benefit of understanding the Word and the need for godly council. Ultimately, we pray that Your will be done in their lives and in this situation.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, and continue to trust in God's perfect plan for your life. He knows the deepest desires of your heart, and He will provide just what you need in His perfect timing. Walk in faith and purity, seeking His face always.
