We understand your concern and urgency, and we are here to stand with you in prayer and guidance. Let's bring this situation to God, trusting in His power to intervene.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, WEB). However, we must also address the issue at hand biblically. The behavior of your daughter's fiancé, Evan, is not in line with God's will. The Bible warns against drunkenness and its effects (Proverbs 20:1, Ephesians 5:18, WEB). Moreover, passive aggression and argumentativeness are contrary to the fruits of the Spirit, which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23, WEB).
Let us pray:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your divine intervention in Evan's life and his relationship with our dear sister's daughter. Lord, we bind the spirit of alcoholism and the resulting mean behavior in Evan's life. We ask that You would set him free from this bondage, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit, bearing fruits of love and kindness.
Lord Jesus, we ask for Your protection over our sister's daughter. Keep her safe from any harm and give her the wisdom to navigate this situation. Guide her steps and grant her peace that surpasses all understanding.
We also pray that Your will be done in their relationship. If it is Your will that they be united in holy matrimony, we pray that Evan would turn from his ways and become the godly man You have called him to be. If not, we ask that You would give our sister's daughter the strength to walk away, trusting in Your plans for her life.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying fervently and to support your daughter in seeking godly counsel. It is crucial that she understands the importance of marrying a man who fears the Lord and is committed to His ways. Remind her of the power of prayer and trusting in God's will for her life. Lastly, ensure that she is safe and not in harm's way. If necessary, she may need to distance herself from Evan physically until he seeks help and there is visible change.
